so deep and so true

~~~SiMpLiFy!~~~
This is my darling new slogan and I am putting it EVERYWHERE: ginormous glittery wood letters in dinning room, vinyl in kitchen, stickers on clocks, scrapbooked pitcher frames in living room, handpainted on the damask upstairs, seriously, EVERYWHERE. Made JJWT, Alivyiah & Tridger binders with color-coded simplicity instructions for every day of the week {with a complicated reward system} and then called all the people in my home biz donwline & invited them to buy wood letters that say SIMPLIFY for a 30% discount if they color code there closets and binders the same way! Also I brain-storm'd some rules to help me.
My goals for being more SIMPLIFY:
1. be way less materialistic
2. own a buttload of shoes
3. grow my hair way past my boobs
4. put everything in this font
  1. Hi Tamn! I just wanted to let you know that I featured you as one of my top 5 blog crushes today! Thought you might want to come see. Have a great day!
  2. OH, and you are hilarious! This post proves it!
  3. Must be nice to be so simple.
  4. I need to grab my bead-draped jar of bouquet pens and my chip-board covered ribbon bound scrappy hand-pressed paper notebook and write this stuff down!
  5. My sister-in-law (Scarlett Clegg) introduced me to your blog a while ago, and I love it!
    This is one of my fav posts!
  6. You used the b-word!!! My ears are burning! But I still love you for being more SIMPLIFY.
  7. You should know that something cosmic is pulling us together. I came to your blog to let you know your fame has spread a bit further. (I mentioned you in my blog today). And then I saw your post today about Simplify. The crazy thing is...I used a Simplify logo in my blog just yesterday! Great minds think alike, eh?
  11. I wanted our wedding announcements to be in Papyrus font but my angle-babe said it was way overdone. (Pouty cute look.) So we used ZAPFINO instead! Totally recommend it to help you SIMPLIFY!
  12. Considering my boobs are way past my knees, I would have to grow my hair really, really long.
    But since your boobs are super perky and up to your chin, you could totally get away with a bob. Like Britney had, before she went crazy.
  13. Vinyl lettering everywhere, gag me.
  14. I agree... shoes are the way to be far less materialistic. You can spend all your money on shoes and then not have money for food, clothes, electronics, even diapers. I guess that also helps with diets and potty training.
  15. Is this slogan replacing live, love, laugh?
  16. TAMN, simplify is old hat. We've moved on. Simplify is, like, so three months ago. Ugh. You need to move back to the promised land of Utah so you can actually know these things. We're on to "All because two people fell in love" (on your wall rather than just your blog" or "Home is where your story begins." My mom has simplify in her house, and she's my MOM, not a cute/chic/cool amazing twentysomething mom like you...
  17. Hahahahahahahahaha!
    Brilliant. Worthy of failing to simplify and typing my laughter in haha's instead of lol.
  18. AHHHHH!!!! ATTACK OF PAPYRUS! Please, make it go away.
  19. Not tibby rude but I'm pretty sure that we've been commanded to MAGNIFY our callings (which as far as I'm concerned also means motherhood, wifehood, sisterhood, neighborliness, visiting teaching as well as sheperding those precious Youth into womanhood. So you when you say simplify I hear heresy, no offense. I have spent literaly my entire week making handouts for Relief Society this Sunday because the lesson is about womanhood so it has to be extra precious. i'm not the teacher or anything, but I've noticed my new ward doesn't give me precious fridge art to remind me to be spiritual so I've decided to magnify the teacher's calling for her. I guess I feel like I have a lot more to give than you {frownsmile}. Lurve ya!
  20. TAMN I hope you don't put this one in the bedroom, I mean we have to draw the line somewhere. Not all things should be simplified ;)
  21. haha to you and also to theferrisoneofall's comment. love it.
  22. I had no idea you of all people would ever find out my secret for simplifying my life.
    And I don't mean that in a mean way.
    But I gotta tell ya- growing my hair way past my boobs has been life-altering. I'm not a slave to a bi-monthly visit to the stylist, which saves me time and money, I can wear a ponytail and still look exotic, and I feel so much more like the pioneer moms, except for the wearing my hair in a bun during the day part. I just feel so feminine- I don't think I'll ever cut it- even when it starts to go gray.
    How did you ever guess?!
    Well have fun with the hair-growing, I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I do.
  23. It would be sick to be in your downline. (I mean "sick" in the good way.)
    ReplyDelete
  24. Oh my HECK! That's the font I just used for my new blog redo.
    I must be totally simplified!
    ReplyDelete
  25. Wow, this post is over the top.
    ReplyDelete
  26. I love that one goal is to grow your hair past your boobs! haha
    ReplyDelete
  27. Wow...it's like rereading "Walden." Thanks, TAMN, for helping us see what really matters. You're like Emma Smith, if she had a bright-red washer and dryer.
    ReplyDelete
  28. I wanna be more simplify too!
    ReplyDelete
  29. amen to Polly! You could replace Thoreau as a leading filusofical ligtht to us all!!!!!!!!!!!
  30. Simplify. In Papyrus. Gross.
    You can find those at DI now along with all the other RS and Primary birthday slash Christmas gifts.
    Time to cleanse the creative palate with some righteous Zion's fresh air. A girls-only weekend (on Daddy, of course) is in order.
    Remember... in through your perky button nose and out through your perfectly pouty Clinique colored lips. There. We'll get through this creative frump together.
  31. I think we need explanations as to why these help you simplify.
    ReplyDelete
  32. Wow TAMN. You are def gonna get extra blessings for making this decision to be simplify.
    ReplyDelete
  33. You are so deep. This post was AMAZING!
    ReplyDelete
  34. TAMN where would I be without you? I can't keep up with all of the changing trends all by myself!
    ReplyDelete
  35. Sooo glad you finally changed to Papyrus. Comic Sans is so last year.
    ReplyDelete
  36. whenever I think of simplifying my life I think of going shopping at jcrew.
    ReplyDelete
  37. killing me...because its so TRUE.
    ReplyDelete
  38. Oh . . . Papyrus. And now my eyes are bleeding.
    ReplyDelete
  39. As long as your navel-length hair is still highlighted with at least 2different shades of blonde, it will be *simplify* and righteously hot.
    If it's blah boring brown, you'll just look polygamous.
    ReplyDelete
  40. Oh TAMNers,
    Thank you, thank you. Haven't had a good laugh all day.
    ReplyDelete
  41. lol and lol. I'm so happy you are Simplify now! Congrats. :)
    ReplyDelete
  42. TAMN, I'm very bothered that your fourth of july looking header is still up and it's august! Confusing your months is not going to help make your life more simplify, my dear. It just won't.
    ReplyDelete
  43. My pursonal fav spot to display my simplify block letters is right on top of my ginormous flat screen tv. Totally reminds me to be simplify all the time.
    ReplyDelete
  44. But what did you do with all the scrapbooked pitcher frames you got as wedding/babyshower gifts?
    Vinyl lettering is sooo last year. Deseret Book had tubes of it on the clearance table outside. And we all know that the DB clearance table is the GAs nice way of saying "If you still have any of this stuff, REPENT of being tacky." Poor TAMNers. *frownsmile*
    ReplyDelete
  45. I really didn't think this post was that funny. In fact they've been getting less funny lately.
    Not very clever anymore. Boo hoo.
    ReplyDelete
  46. "always kiss me goodnight" goes in the bedroom TAMN, not SIMPLIFY (frownsmile)
    serisly- does your relief society not send out a weekly email telling you such things? poor, beautiful girl.
  47. Darling Tamn,
    I'm sorry to say that if this font were a contestant in America's Next Top Model, Tyra would say that it calls too much attention to itself and distracts from your message. Don't doubt the Times New Roman, girl!
    Sincerely,
    O to the Lise
  48. Oh how i wish this made more sence to me. I needed a good laugh too.
    ReplyDelete
  49. "Dinning room." Heh heh.
    Is it a sign of the times that I don't know the names of the different fonts? I'm so ashamed to be in such company....
  50. Jessica is wrong - "All because two people fell in love" is even older than "simplify," so DEF do NOT use it! (Luv you Jess!)
    The newest is "Life is a Matter of Moments." I think that is very profound. In fact, it is even more profound than my current favorite motto: "Eating is a matter of bites."
    If you want to be profound, you just come up with something totally obvious and put it in cute font! My next one is going to be: "Talking is a matter of sounds." And then: "Wearing shoes is a matter of sole."
    Can't wait to get to: "Mortality is a matter of matter!" Wordplay and profundity, all in one! That's like totally simplified (unless you have to explain it to frumpies).
    ReplyDelete
  51. I knew it was coming but it was so much better than I could have imagined! (love the complicated system to simplify) I'm honored, thanks. Good luck being more SiMpLiFy!
    ReplyDelete
  52. I am laughing so hard... mostly because I can see my "SIMPLIFY" sign in my kitchen that I stenciled (before the days of vinyl) in papyrus font. TAMN, you and I are bosom friends.
    ReplyDelete
  53. So I read this post and thought it was totally hillarious (and spot on, I might add). Then I read the comments, and that sent me over the top. There are some pretty witty Mormons out there!
    ReplyDelete
  54. Just get extentions Tamners. Thats waaaaaaaay more simplifyering.
    ReplyDelete
  55. I'm pretty sure that PAPYRUS is the new Comic Sans.
    Also, I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to be at church right now...
    ReplyDelete
  56. does this mean anthro is out of the question?
    ReplyDelete
  57. Just had to go and be like everybody else and start using this awesome font, huh? I hope it's on all your new signs, too because I'd hate for you to stand out and be the only person in the world who isn't surrounded by the papyrus font!
  58. Tamn's Mathimatical Logic
    Simplification is a valid argument and rule of inference which makes the inference that, if the conjunction A and B is true, then A is true, and B is true.
    Example: More work and more shoes.
    Therefore simplified.
    She is a genius.
  59. Not to be rude, but your banner is sooo last month. Sad.
    ReplyDelete
  60. geez tamn you're so simple. i look up to you.
    ReplyDelete
  61. My sister bought these letters. They are so dang cute, but you can't really see them because of all the stuff on the ledge where she put them. Really important stuff, you know. From Taipei.
    ReplyDelete
  62. Papyrus...
    My roommate got a wedding invite in Papyrus. We made it the center piece on our table so we could regard the strangeness of it daily.
    ReplyDelete
  63. Papyrus is the best font to Simplify in, because it's the font the scriptures were written in. Love it.
    You are genius, and at 30% discount too. Made my day, girlfriend!
