ummmmm

you can't get preggo when your nursing, right?

121 comments:

  1. Yeah, you definitely can't. I mean, my friend didn't get pregnant, and she was nursing, so it must be true.

    ReplyDelete
  2. I've been waiting for this!!

    ReplyDelete
  3. Well, it depends on who you ask-wives who tell tales or... my daughter who I got pregnant with when my nursing son was 7 months old :) Good luck!

    ReplyDelete
  4. If that's what helps you sleep at night, then nope, can't get preggo when you're nursing.

    ReplyDelete
  5. You can only get pregnant when you're nursing if you're really really righteous and the Lord really really wants you to raise his most choice spirits. So....yeah.

    ReplyDelete
  6. false. :(
You CAN get prego while nursing.

    ReplyDelete
  7. oops. my mom did that a few times.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Of course not. I think it's in the scriptures somewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Well, since everyone else has already addressed your question, I have an off the subject comment to make. You totally remind me of Tyson from Survivor: Tocantins!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Oh ya - I have a couple of times.... ;)

    ReplyDelete
  11. I'm confused... I thought you previously said, "my milk is dryed up ever since I stopped eating."

    ReplyDelete
  12. I got pregnant while nursing!

    ReplyDelete
  13. ha, i love it. i think you are spying on my neighbors

    ReplyDelete
  14. You've been jogging since the babies were 3 days old! You stopped eating a month and a half ago! And, you've been seperated from the twins for 5 days! I don't think you have it in you to nurse, much less ovulate.

    So, you're good!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Um my cousin did but she wasn't nearly as righteous as you are! Besides, aren't you "on" the pill because you leave it "on" your dresser? Just keep doing that!

    ReplyDelete
  16. You could have almost triplets!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Were you pumpeen on your cruise? I sure hope so...if you miss even ONE feeding, it's all over!

    ReplyDelete
  18. My mom did. And I thought you were done nursing?

    ReplyDelete
  19. how is you're nursing your twinsies while on a cruise? did you just pump a bumload before you left?

    ReplyDelete
  20. NO, you cannot get pregnant while nursing.
You have to put the baby down first.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Definately not! Good thing you gave it up to go on the cruise so lover bunz can bless your ritchus womb again before Linzii!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I thought all your milk dried up awhile ago...

    ReplyDelete
  23. Riiiiiiiight... oops! Living the nightmare as we speak- although I wasn't nursing anymore when it happened

    ReplyDelete
  24. Sure. If you say so. You wouldn't be the first.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Oh boy, I've heard this story all to many times in the Valley. Just keep praying!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Wait...haven't you only been nuzzling for like only a week!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Too Much Nuzzling with the AngelBabe! Yepp...

    ReplyDelete
  28. I thought you'd already weaned your way-righteous offspring, anyway?

According to some book someone told me to read (gross, right?), if you let your kids use you as a pacifier, then you might not (get pregnant, that is). Good luck with that!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Nursing? You quit so you could starve and wear ear plugs all night. Right?

    ReplyDelete
  30. as a true ebff, i'm going to be honest. NO YOU CAN'T GET PREGGERS WHILE NURSING!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I did, but it wasn't until my baby was almost a year old.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I totally DON'T have two kids that are 9 months apart! I knew you couldn't get pregnant while nursing and so 4 weeks after bambino 2 came and my hubby got a little randy I didn't get pregnant. Because you totally CAN'T get preggers while nursing. (YOu totally don't have to wait those 6 weeks either) LIKE TOTALLY. I'm that lady that everybody says "oh I knew this lady once..."

    ReplyDelete
  33. Only if you are nursing all the time, day and night. You stopped doing that four hours after birth when they started sleeping through the night.

    ReplyDelete
  34. LOLOL!! Laura's comment was so funny.

You can't get preggo FROM nursing, you get preggo from nuzzling, silly.
That said, maybe you should lock Muffin Loaf in the basement for awhile, just to be sure.

    ReplyDelete
  35. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA.

But I'd have to agree with Token Asian Friend. I doubt you're even ovulating... but then again, you DID conceive your twinsies in your fertile womb garden while you were on a strict diet of 1 shred of lettuce and 1/2 cup of diet coke per day... so maybe anythings possible.

omg. i really hope you're not pregnant again. i don't think i could handle it.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I guess it depends on who you are nursing.

    ReplyDelete
  37. My friend did and her girls are one year apart so be careful

    ReplyDelete
  38. You said you dried up. So yes, you can get pregnant when you are NOT nursing. Poor twinsies getting fake mild...sad.

    ReplyDelete
  39. LOVE IT!
And yeah... I stopped nursing my first a month before my 2nd was born!

    ReplyDelete
  40. where's the IUD? come on TAMN, you knew nuzzlin' would bring in the bacon, right?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Oh, just when I think this blog couldn't possibly get any better....

    ReplyDelete
  42. Maybe not regular people but in your super righteous fertile womb - who knows?!?!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Totally false. I'm sorry to tell you, but you can get prego while you are nursing. Not only that but you can get prego while nursing and taking the mini pill. (Well, at least it happened to me when my oldest was 6 months old. So my 2 oldest girls are 15 months apart). Good luck!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Heck yes you can get prego while breastfeeding! But if anyone can handle 3 kids under the age of 1, you can TAMN!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. My mom had 10 kids all 11 months apart and she nursed all of us. You do the math.

Here's hoping for your second set.

    ReplyDelete
  46. my mom did!!!!!!!!! be careful!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Um, most people can't, but if Heavenly Father can't find any richus mothers who aren't nursing for His preshus spirits dancing around up there in 1980s figure skating costumes, then sometimes a miracle happens.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I was exclusively breastfeeding my daughter (meaning I wasn't supplementing w/ formula or anything else) and when she was four months old I conceived. Sad day. There's an important difference between you and me though. I was breastfeeding: you are not. So, I guess what I don't get is who you're asking this question about?

    ReplyDelete
  49. AAAHAHAHA. That made me laugh out loud in my office :-)

    ReplyDelete
  50. Honestly????? You can get pregnant ANYTIME you nuzzle, even if you are nursing, menstruating, standing up, in a pool, on the pill, have an IUD, etc. The only way to prevent pregnancy 100% is NOT nuzzling. (I have a co-worker who got pregnant years after having her tubes tied, so even that isn't 100%)

    ReplyDelete
  51. Just when I think this blog CANNOT get any better, IT DOES!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I also think Laura has the right answer here. hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I have 2 kids that are 16 months apart. I was nursing my first one when the prego test arrived positive for my second child. You certainly can, but only the most righteous ones get that privledge :)

    ReplyDelete
  54. *SQUEAL!*

Have you started planning your next shower?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Prolly not but TAMNers {shocked whisper} isn't birth control, like, totally against the plan??

    ReplyDelete
  56. A) I'm pretty interested in the TAMN definition of 'nursing,' and B) "realize" is just one of those esoteric terms that you shouldn't worry your teensy, cute brain over.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Yes, yes you can, which is why I had FOUR kids in 16 months!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Actually, it's not "You can't get pregnant while nursing", it's "You shouldn't get pregnant while you're nursing."

    ReplyDelete
  59. I hate it when there are 69 comments. It feels so unrighteous.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Fer shure, you can get preggo while nursing. And, it's time to get preggo again, because the woman w/ the most kids is the most righteous. Your supposed to spend most of your time on this earth being preggo, becuz that is what women are for. So, keep busy gettin' busy with JJWT. This is the spirichal thing to do. XOXOX -- D.

    ReplyDelete
  61. You're right -- what nursing mom has time or energy for "nuzzling?"

(That *is* what you meant, right?)

    ---
I was going to make this announcement on my blog, but this seems like an even better place for it: My baby's not even 3 months old, I'm still nursing around the clock, and my period just came back. Lucky me to be so fertile.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Actually, you can get prego when nursing, and on the pill, and using back-up - its just a game of odds. I was very lucky.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Maybe this is a false alarm? Because things are all wacko from your hormones being crazy? Right? Please say yes!!

(So glad I don't live in places where this kind of reality is common.)

    ReplyDelete
  64. I thought you weren't nursing because you quit eating and your milk magically dried up?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Laura and the Machen family said it all.

    ReplyDelete
  66. that's when I got preg with my second...

    ReplyDelete
  67. Um......ha ha ha ha! Have you been raeding my blog? Because yes you can. You most absolutely can. Even if it took your unrichus womb years and years and years to conceive #1, you most certainly can!

    ReplyDelete
  68. TAMN...if it's it part of the plan, it's part of the plan! Here's hoping for another set of twins. If people are jealous of two.... JUST IMAGINE FOUR!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Congratulations! Your quads are going to be so amazingly beautiful. You should do a reality show. Oh, and bed rest right now for you.

    ReplyDelete
  70. OOOHHH, I just had a thought! Maybe you'll get preggo with quadruplets, and then you can really show up - I mean, set a good example for - Lynzii.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Be HoNeSt TAMNers, do you want to get preggo again just so can have another floating feti widget?

    ReplyDelete
  72. Um, should we even be talking about this in public?

    ReplyDelete
  73. TAMN, you already have way more names than you needed this time around. Now you need more babies to make the names and babies come out even. I think getting preggo while nursing is an awesome example of multitasking.

    ReplyDelete
  74. That was my Mom's 4th child. She got pregnant nursing me. Shortly after, my Brother was born.

    ReplyDelete
  75. If they'd just stop making such cute maternity clothes...

    ReplyDelete
  76. TAMN...listen to me. Anyone who says you can get preggers while nursing is LYING. If you're preggie, you have definitely witnessed a MIRACLE. Rub it in Ruth's face. You're being blessed for taking the cruise. You're so lucky!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Um, it MUST be the sea-sickness from the cruise, right?! Seriously!

    ReplyDelete
  78. YES YOU CAA-AAAA-AAN!!!

    ReplyDelete
  79. I bet AB is high 5'n his buddies. Excited that he has SUper-sp..... That is way impressive. If you are expectin again, just pray it is sextuplets cause then you most def will need to do a reality... YOUR VERY OWN... T And J + some!!!

    ReplyDelete
  80. I thought your milk dried up?

I guess that's what you get for "nuzzling like crazy"!

Or maybe you're just not having a period because you're not eating. Most people lose their period due to not eating, anyway...

    ReplyDelete
  81. Grandma Motorcycle -- WELL SAID! Love it.

    ReplyDelete
  82. You CAN get pregnant while nursing. Trust me I know!

    ReplyDelete
  83. My best friend got pregnant while she was nursing. If you ask a doctor (one who knows) they will tell you that when your body is producing milk it sometimes thinks it is still pregnant and you wont get your period either. HOWEVER, some are more furtile than others and it also depends on how much milk you are producing. My 2 cents, better safe than...pregnant too soon!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Seriously though...I really thought you couldn't?! Oh dear...

    ReplyDelete
  85. yes you CAN GET PREGNANT WHILE NURSING! Just ask my sister-in-law. She thought the same thing. I told her you could. She took a test...she's due next month :)

    ReplyDelete
  86. My mother was a new convert to the church when she had just given birth to my brother...he was brand new. She always puts it like this, Those mormons told me I couldn't get pregnant while nursing....well, were they wrong. She still is a member and my brothers are 13 months apart. I wouldn't take any birth control advice from mormons....:) It's not in our DNA.

    ReplyDelete
  87. You are SO totally righteous... and only the UBER righteous do. Get pregnant while nursing that is.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Baaaaahhhhhh!!!!! That's how #2 came along a year later :)))))

    ReplyDelete
  89. hee hee hee Too much nuzzlin', Tamn?

    ReplyDelete
  90. Hello Irish Twins wait! Triplets!!

    Sucks to be you babe...

    ReplyDelete
  91. Question: Are people still taking this blog seriously and thinking you're real? Am I reading some of these comments correctly?

    ReplyDelete
  92. Of course not, plus you have twins, so that's double protection.

    ReplyDelete
  93. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Got myself a set of boys 13 months apart...yeppers...nursing doesn't make good bc...trust me!

    ReplyDelete
  94. Boob Nazi: hahaha, I am always thinking the same!!!

    ReplyDelete
  95. That's what they say but I have got pregnant twice while nursing. lol

    ReplyDelete
  96. Tamners,
I thought you switched to bottle feeding?

    ReplyDelete
  97. I got pregnant while nursing, so yes...although it ended with a miscarriage.. =(

    ReplyDelete
  98. OMG are you preggo again!! I sooo hope so, maybe this time it will be triplets and they will all be princesses, then you will totally have the one up on stupid lynzee!!

    ReplyDelete
  99. My Mom did, my brother and sister are 4 days less than a year apart. =)

    ReplyDelete
  100. It's hard to get pregnant while nursing... much easier to nuzzle after the babies finish eating. ;)
