quote on quote Grandma

Holy cow guys, thanx for all the Ruth advice!! I am the luckiest girl in the world I swear! Not like bee or eff or H or anything, but swear like, I totally mean what I say when I say that I am the luckiest girl!! Not only do I have two hot twin feti, the best hubby ever and just an all-around way blessed life, but I also have the opp to learn a ton of patience with this whole Ruth marriage thing!! Definately have no attention of leaving the poor yawner alone to fester in her frumpy. Totally just have to sit Ruth down, take her under my proverbrial wing and make her see eyeliner to eyeliner with me on how to have a non-lame-O life. It's not that she's BAD purr-say, just that she's BORING. Better get that Subaru on KSL classifieds stat...it's Escalade time!! Your welcome in advance, future friend! Totally dredding that convo but it's GOTTA happen you guys.

Reader Motorcycle Grandma brought up this important question: "When your hot fetus starts talking at a real early age like five months, what is he/she going to call yours and JJWT's parents? Something really cute and special, I hope, since they will be the most blessed grandparents in the world. "

NO KIDDING!!!

i GOTTA talk to Ruth, if only bc we have to agree on what our kids are gonna call JJWT's parents!! Better choose something soon for all the letters and cards we'll write pretending they're from our unborn children, not to mention all the paint your own pottery stuff we're into!! Seriously, let's figure this out. What do YOU call your cute grandparents? What should we call JJWT and me's parents??!? It's gotta be young, hip, darling, and most importantly look ridiculously DARLING on a custom stamp for stampin.

  1. PLEASE make sure at least one of the grandmas is called Gangy like on Arrested Development. PLZ PLZ PLZ PLZ.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Gigi for JJWT's mom, and Papi for his dad.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I admire your willingness to "lead, guide, walk beside" Ruth during the transition. How'd you get so nice and spirichal? Your parents must be awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  4. BTW - make sure whatever you pick to call the "Grandparents" does NOT include any form of the word "Grandparents" because that is sooo mean and makes them fill totally old.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Just make sure whatever it is does'nt make you're or JJWT's 'rents sound too old, becuz some peepul might associate that oldness to yew!!

    ReplyDelete
  6. I knew some kids who called their grandparents Pee-paw and Mee-maw. I think that is downright disrespectful.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Well, since you're so awesome and spiritual, I'm sure the apple doesn't far too far from the tree, so I would go with Stake President Pappy and Sister Stake President Grammy.

Have you thought what will happen if Ruth outshines you and has triplets?!?!? You need to make it really clear that she will never be your parent's daughter and her feti will never be as hot as yours. In a totally nice and spiritual way, of course.

  8. My nephews and nieces started calling my Dad Papa Jellybean because he ALWAYS has jellybeans for the grandkids. They call my Mom Grandma, but she wants my soon-to-be-here son to call her Babushka because she thinks it's cute. Babushka is Grandma in Russian, we have no Russian heritage but she likes it. :) My JJWT's parents are called Grandma (first name) and Grandpa (first name) at their own request. I'm not a huge fan of than, but it works for them.

    ReplyDelete
  9. How bout Grammy, Grams or Grammers for short?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Thank you! I no longer have a need to watch SNL anymore. This blog provides ALL of the satire/humor I need! Still laughing about the "Ruth" post.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Yew totally don't want to kopy-kat me & my awesome sis, but we call our (favorite) grand'rents "Nanny" and "Bumpa". (Not that we took sides, but my mom's parental units were like much cooler than my dad's. Is that how you feel your parents will be with the twinsies?) It was a collab event, back when we were wee young. I cam up with "Nanny" after watching Mary Poppins (cuz my grandma was as cool as Mary!). My baby sis couldn't say "Grandpa" and it always came out "Bumpa".

  12. Since my real name is Ann, my grandchildren call me Nanna. My rap name is Nanna P. My DH is Pappa C.

This is mostly because my grandchildren have so many grandparents. My SIL is a great guy and a lawyer and everything, but his family is not down with the plan.

    ReplyDelete
  13. My children have taken to calling my mother Namma (sounds like Gramma), and my mother in law is Abi (pronounced Aw-bee) which is short for Abuelita (little grandma in Spanish). Grandpa's are Papa Joe, and Grump-pa (he is a bit of a grouch and he LOVES the name), and since my grandparents are still alive, we have given them special names too... They are not just great grandparents, they are SUPER Grandparents. So they are Super Grandma and Super Grandpa...

    ReplyDelete
  14. My mom is Mimi to my kids and I always liked Gigi for grandmas, too. My friend's dad is Pa. I know it sounds kinda "Little House on the Prairie", but when a 2 year old is squeaking out a "Pa!", you can't help but think it's the cutest thing ever.

    ReplyDelete
  15. You should call them grandma and grandpa from the language of JJWT's mission. That way everyone knows what super cool and hard language he speaks whenever your baby talks!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Nanna & Grand-dad? I'm sure your naturally adorably clever feti will come up with something perfect when they can't pronounce the entire name yet!

    ReplyDelete
  17. well...my aunt has her grands call her "glam-ma" because she feels too young to be a grandma...so how about "glam-ma" & "glam-pa"?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Take their real name and cute-it-up. My kids call Grandmother Julene "jinky". Grandfather Drew is Grampa Juice. Tell me their names, I'll fix em way cute.

PS Jinky doesn't like her name and she's my in-law, so by calling her that even when we're alone, it's my special way of sticking it to the man. whatever that means.

    ReplyDelete
  19. My daughter calls her grandma "Tu Tu" and her grandpa "Pop Pop". And she calls her great-grandma "Tu Ta" (that one she came up with all on her own).

    ReplyDelete
  20. Donny & Marie, definately!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I totally agree with you, I am so anti frumpiness.

    ReplyDelete
  22. We are going with G-ma, thanks to Snoop Dogg's vocab. btw I heard he was Mormon.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I totally say call grandma Queenie, cuz she is the queen of the fam, and grandpa shouls be sumthin like "GOV".

    ReplyDelete
  24. I like Nanny and Poppa. A little tradishunal, almost like Grandma and Grandpa, but way Qter, and looks great in krafty letters. Spechally if you spell Nanny with a "ie" stead of a Y.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I say grandmom is "Fro Yo Grandmo" and grandpa is "Pop Tart Grandpo," although in my family they were always Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop.

    ReplyDelete
  26. My kids call my husband's gramma Nonna, which is grandmother in Italian. I think it's cute. I also like Pspa for a grandpa. My son called my Dad Poo-pa for a long time.

    ReplyDelete
  27. My darling Princess was burdened with names picked out by the "old" grandkids. No creativity and so old sounding. (frowny face) It's such a trial! I'd pick Mimi or Tutu for Grandma and Boompa or Poppy for Grandpa.

Wish I had a SIL as cool as U to lead the way!

    ReplyDelete
  28. My kids call my hubby's 'rents Oma and Opa 'cuz that's grandma and grandpa in German and they are German. I love it.

My sister's kids call one grandma Mimi and grandpa is Poppy. I think that's super cute.

Definitely think you should go foreign language for JJWT's parents. SO CUTE.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Big Dude
    Hot Stuff
    G-pa
    G-ma
    Queenie
    Sir Gramps
    Madame ______(name-like TAMN)
    TAMN-MA
TAMN-PA (cuz you're the one who made them grandparents, you should get some props in the name)

    ReplyDelete
  30. We call my Quebecoise grandmother Mamie (not pronounced Ma'ammy, which sounds school marmish (gross!), but short and cute, like M(ah)Mee!). We love it, and that's what we call my Mom now. Plus, I can already attest that it looks darling on a stamp! No good ones for the g-to-the-p, unfortunately. Good luck!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I like the TAMN-ma and TAMN-pa myself. If you're not into yourself (like I know you're not. you todally hate being self absorbeD) I like
Mimi and Buddy-- totally hip sounding! Would make darling stamps!

    ReplyDelete
  32. The kids in my family call my parents Gi-Gi and Pop-Pop. How cute is that?!?!?!?!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Cupcake for Grandma
    Froyo for Grandpa

Your blog is so funny! I love it!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Okay, You're totally hottest feti ever, should totally call you're mom, Goddess. Unless of course you would prefur that they call you, Goddess, becuz you way are!

    ReplyDelete
  35. hahah I like the "Glamma" and "Glampa" Don't know if I'd call the grandpa glampa, though... Granpapy?

My mom demands to be called Nana. And all of the other grandmas have to find their own name, dang it!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I grew up calling all my grandparents "Grandma" and "Grandpa," which is pretty boring, but whatever.

My nieces and nephew call my in laws Papa and Granny.

I've also heard Pap, Papaw, Granna, Nana, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  37. My friends kids call their grandma Beautiful but maybe you should save that for your grandkids. My parents are Lala and Poppa and they are way young and hip. You should totally talk to Ruth and figure this out cuz my two younger brother are married before me (ack! I know, Don't say it!!!) and their kids are totally making all the rules! I really need to put my foot down and set them straight.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Tinky-Winky and Dipsy. You abso-loot-lee cannot get cuter than that!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Muffin & Punkin
    Meme & Papa
The queen & commander in chief

    Fun, fun blog!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Wait. I like, totally, don't understand the question. Doesn't everyone call their grandparents "Brother Grandpa" and "Sister Grandma??"

I would think that a person as spirichual as TAMN is would never think of calling ANYONE a name other than started with "Brother or Sister." It's, like, practically in the plan, peepol!

    ReplyDelete
  41. glam-ma and glam-pa totally win.

    ReplyDelete
  42. My completely and udderly syco mother in law who is completely apostate prefers "Nana" - so thats something you probley wont want to use because it's crazy talk.

My grams prefers "grams". My grandpas both died.

    SAD.

IMHO I think you should call them President "Larsen" (lets just say thats they're last name) and his Sis. They need to learn the respect for them folks right away.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Spanky for a grandpa, there is nothing more respectable than that! And some cute fruit or vegetable for grandma, like "apple" or "carrots", cause grandmas bake treats. And maybe the other granparents could just choose some fanulous names like from shakespeare, like that girl from hamlet or juliet or something. cause shakespeer is classy!

    ReplyDelete
  44. My parents are not yet grandparents (working on that!) and my brother, cousins and I were boring and used Grandma (last name) and Grandpa (last name). However, my cousins kids have a TON of grandparents and great-grandparents. And they ALL have different names...
    Wife's parents - Nana & Poppa
    Wife's biological mother - Grammy
    Wife's grandparents - G-Gma & G-Gpa
    Wife's great grandmother - Nonnie
    Husband's parents - Mimi & Gramps
    Husband's grandparents - Granny & Grampy

    ReplyDelete
  45. Angelbabe's (JJWT's) parents should be Angel-ma and Angel-pa. Your kids should call your parents what you call them, Mommy and Daddy, because everyone is going to think you are their sister anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Whatever they call them, make sure they always refer to them that way, especially with people who don't know who in the world they're talking about -- as if that's what everyone calls their grandparents. "Yeah, so Mee-Maw tells me she's taking me to Europe!"

    ReplyDelete
  47. My dad doesn't want to be called Grandpa because he feels he is too young. He prefers either G-pa or Papa G (His name is Glen). My mom doesn't mind Grandma so we didn't come up with anything for her. My husbands parents are Granny and Papa (it's a family thing).

    ReplyDelete
  48. We call our russian grandma and grandpa babushka and dedushka. Or you can go baba and deda for short. one of my sons used to call our american ones gammy and gampy/ Dut if you want to be cool I guess you could do first name plus respectful nick name like grandpa Teddy-bear.

    ReplyDelete
  49. my friend's kids call her parents Nana and Papa. it's just cute. and like someone earlier commented, it's great when they're talking about Nana and Papa like that's what everyone calls them. For sure. For cute. :)

    ReplyDelete
  50. This is off the subject, sorry. But I was wondering...we're you at the Gateway last weekend? Bcus I was there shopping for Christmas (I'm so worried I won't be done in time!) and I might have seen your SUV in the south parking garage (You do have one, right? It's a must have for family's with multiples). The licence plate said SOHAPPY. Well in case it wasn;t you, you should seriously think about getting personallized plates for your suv!! It's so in right now, not that you keep up with the Joneses or anything. Just an idea.....

    ReplyDelete
  51. I think JJWT's parents should be how ever you say it in the language he served his mission in.
Spanish Abuela and Abuelo French Mammi and Papi etc...
Because he's a return missionary and you should honor it by emphasizing it...

    ReplyDelete
  52. enuf already!
-this is joke- i get it!!
    TMNA {whatever} is fantasy moprah.
    whatever.
    not that anyone cares----
some of these issues seem so wrong to be taken so lightly.!.
and lobbie comment about marder like joseph smith- [see ruth post]
does that not bother anyone else but me!?
the line has def been crossed!

and no- TMNA did not put me up to my comment...is she known for faking some of her comments so that peeps will keep reading her blahg?!>

  54. carreytops or lessie lou:

If the blog is bothering you THAT MUCH, than don't read it! C'mon now, I'm sure your a smart woman, but you are being RIDICULOUS! Are the comments any more offensive than the ACTIONS of some of these "REAL LIFE" TAMN'S? They are so self-righteous (hint...hint...pointing at you) that its laughable!

Go over to Mormon Mommy Blogs for your blogfix if this isn't your cup of tea! (not that you would EVER drink tea...caffinated or herbal.)

    ReplyDelete
  55. Mammy and Pappy. OR MeeMa (or could be spelled MiMa) and Papa. OR gramma _____ (first name here) and grampa _______(first name here)

    ReplyDelete
  56. Make sure you establish it well in advance. My ex's mom is Gramma "first name here" because that's what the older son's first wife (he's on third now) called her mom for thier kid so now that awful woman has affected my own kids 11 years later. Grrr

Tell Ruth you're friends but make sure she knows who really holds the power in this relationship. You married in first and have put in your time so you can set the rules down.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Hmmm...my Handsome, Smart, Spiritual and did I mention Darling little boy nicknamed the peeps in our fam on his own! So you could borrow Mimi and Papa until your DARLING feti's sing there first words and come up with something brilliant to call them on there own! (I say sing bc lets face it...they will have there own recording contract by time they are 2!)

    ReplyDelete
  58. My dad was only 38 when I got prego with num 1, and my stepmother was 30. (I so swear it was NOT a teen prego, at least not on MY end of things--my parents, well, they are another story.) Anyways, Stepmom decided to go with Gran b/c she's a days of our lives fan and that's what Mrs. Horton is. And Dad decided to go with plain ol PawPaw because he's young and it sounds old. But now they're both just old and they L O V E their names.

    ReplyDelete
  59. How bout Honey and Pappy? an' I like mommy and daddy for ur parents, 2. plus, u just HAVE to put tonz of picz of the way cute feti once theyre born! i just can't wait!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Okay Tamn I think I've got it! Call one set of g-prents Duke and Duchess and the other Zeuss and Goddess. Just to remind your feti and yourself that you really are royalty no matter how you look at it!

    ReplyDelete
  61. I have NO idea for a cool grandpa name because, let's be honest, grandpas are not nearly as important as grandmas...but I have picked the name I want to be called by my perfect grandbabies: YaYa. Sounds fun and young, right? And get this...it is an easy sound for babies to make and will be the third word spoken by the baby, only after the even important Mama and Dada, in that order of course.
Good luck with Ruth! I have total confidence in your ability to be kind but firm.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I defiantly vote with megz, "Tinky -Winky and Dipsy", unless of course you are worried about the controversy, with Tinky-Winky being a homosexshool (oh I hope that was ok, if not, then I meant homo-nuzzling-ual.)
But if that doesn't work for ya, my darling JJWT (who also is darling and hotter-than -heck, in a toaddally righteous way) suggested they could call Grandma something like "G" for short, and give Grandpa a cute pet name like "Spot".

    ReplyDelete
  63. When this came up with our firstborn, I asked the parental units what they would prefer to be called. My parents, being uber-cool, chose Nana and Papí (my dad is hispanic).

Of course, the other parental units were satisfied with "Grandma & Grandpa" Hmmm....not original at all!

Whatever you choose, I'm sure it will be super cute, and the feti will learn to say it by age 6 months!

Now, what are you and JJWT going to be called?

    ReplyDelete
  64. TAMNrs- About Ruth, I was a FRUMP :( but my HOT BFF neighbor (just complimenting - not into gals - GEEZ!) took me under her wing & gave me a makeover. NOW I AM HOTNESS! Check her blog www.suburbanheresy.blogspot.com & schedule RUTH IMMEDIATELY!

    ReplyDelete
  65. P.S. I like JJWT-PA & JJWT-MA

    ReplyDelete
  66. Nana and Bobba or Bubs!!

    ReplyDelete
  67. We have "Mema & Papa" for one set, "Nan & Pa" for another, and Oma & Opa for yet, another set and of course, the more traditional, Grampa Dave and Gram Anita. Our adorable children get lots of love for our diss-functional families

    ReplyDelete
  68. Hello! Glam-ma! It's what Goldie Hawn has Ryder call her. If it's good enough for glam-Goldie, it's gotta be good enough for JJWT's mom.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Since your the mommy, your mom might as well be the grandmommy. and Pops, or Bompa (cause really can any kid say Grandpa, come on)

    ReplyDelete
  70. Glama and Glampa are cute and all, but do you really want people to think that your super hot feti speak with identical lisps?

    ReplyDelete
  71. My baby can't talk yet but since she is only a month away from 5 months, I'm sure its only a matter weeks! But I hope she uses her imagination and comes up with something clever like her cousins did! My mom is Hanny because her last name is Hansen and my dad is just Hansen. He's called that by everyone that knows him so I guess it just stuck. I love PopPop but my dad HATES it! He's a Harley man, what can I say?

    ReplyDelete
  72. How about Nonny and Poppy? Think how cute that would look on a stamp or even on vinyl lettering!!!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Oooo...this is a hard one. Such a big decision. How about BlogMa and BlogPa?

By the way, I drink herbal tea. Is that bad?

    ReplyDelete
  74. Granny and the Old Fart.

    ReplyDelete
  75. My niece calls my stepmom "Grandma Cinderella"

    ReplyDelete
  76. My 4-year old differentiates between her grandma's as: the red-house grandma, or the grandma-in-the-mountains.

    ReplyDelete
  77. TAMN-ma sounds fine, but TAMN-pa kind of sounds like a certain feminine hygiene product.

    ReplyDelete
  78. My great grandparents were the french names, "mémère" (pronoucned meh-may) and "pépère" (peh-pay) and they totally have those cool accents and look awesome and classy. Soo cute and sooo perfect.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Hilarious blog -- this is really funny satire. :-) Having read this since the beginning in June, I know that TAMN's priority is that everything must be "totally cute" at all times-- including the grandparents' nicknames. The emphasis is always on "appearances" -- thus the fault-finding with Ruth's haircut, shoes, manicure, mission assignment, recycling habits, education, etc.

As a suggestion, it might be thoughtful to ask the grandparents themselves what nickname they would select. As family members, their viewpoints are important, and rather than have TAMN make the decision all by herself, the grandparents might like to be consulted. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  80. "Tinky-Winky and Dipsy."

    *SNORT*

    funniest comment.

  82. How about getting clever in your name usage like Nola is called Gran-Nola or Paul is nicked Gram-Paul. That way they still fill young bc there still using there first name.

    ReplyDelete
  83. A zillion cute suggestions, but it will matter naught. Those absolutely adorable twins will come up with the name! I was "Grandma" until my first-born grandson started talking and called me Amma...and that is what I am and shall be forever!!!

    ReplyDelete
  84. If only I'd had kid AFTER arrested development...I'd have had my kids call my hubster's parents Gangy and Pop Pop...just waiting for the day one of them would say "I have Pop Pop in the attic". Please...Gangy and Pop Pop :)

K, I'm prolly too worked up about this, but...I think I might be Ruth! Don't hate me! I recycle, compost even, ride my bike, my handsome hubby who is not as hot as JJWT and me didn't have a rill resepshin, and I paint my fingernails only clear. Wait! I paint my toenails rill bright colors. Good. Still BFF's, forever! I'm so at your next Bunco party!

    ReplyDelete
  89. TAMN I just got my shirts in the mail and I LOVE THEM!!! Can't wait to wear them to Bunco and book club, etc. You = the best.

    ReplyDelete
  90. You quoted me on your blog! Wow, I feel so really, really special and now famous!!!

I'm Grandma to my grandkids. But I would have been happy with almost anything they came up with except "Grammy" or "Granny". That would make me sound really old.

    ReplyDelete
  91. mamar and pops. It's adorable and perfect in every way.

    ReplyDelete
  92. my kids call my parents gram and gramdad. well, my daughter says it more like gwam and gwadad. their other g-rents are nana and grampa. i had my kids so long after they already started having g-kids that the names were already in place. you may consider asking your 'rents what they want to be called. my personal favorite for a g-mom would be gammy num nums. just a suggestion

    ReplyDelete
  93. We call my Great Grandma Gigi. My daughter calls her dad's mom by her surname only ... cause there are too many grandmas to keep track of. lol

BTW- I love my Fro Yo shirt. Wore it to Red Mango last night, and the girl working there had a good laugh. :) Super Yummy Addicting Stuff!!! I got the original flavor, of course, cause I think the Green Tea has caffeine in it, and my hubby said it tasted like Hay.

  96. I know this blog is probably just for fun and entertainment, but I think it's a little disturbing. It's really scary the way you are talking about modesty and other important issues. Even if it's all a big joke, I don't think it's funny. Just my honest opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  97. So I read your last blog and your whole Ruth thing is bothering me.

First of all if someone is your family you should not be dissing them. If you have a problem and you need to vent do it in private (like in a personal journal that no one reads) NOT where everyone you know (and don't) can read it.
You are insulting her and the odds are that if she is engaged to your brother she knows you have a blog.
In other words she knows you dissing on her to all your friends.
NOT a good way to encourage in-law relations.

Face the fact that there are a million things that could be worse about a future sister-in-law. Not knowing her these are just some things you didn't complain about that are way worse. I also encluded some things that you may help you understand her view point and some things that you just seem to need to know.

    1. she could wear unmodest cloathing. Sure her cloathes may not be modest but she at least shes not bearing all for the world to see.
    2. She could not have heard of the church other then through her hubby-to-be. Which would you rather have her know and be familiar with, etsy or the church.
3.So she doesen't value an exspensive hair cut. Would you perfer her to not value honnesty, integrity, KINDNESS (it is NOT kind to diss her).
    4. She dosen't wear heals. She could not be worthy to wear garmets. What would you rather have?
    5. So, yah she doesn't have a flip phone. Since you aparently missed it cell phone companies still design and sell flip-phones.
    6. She reycles. It is in't a bad thing. I admit I don't do alot of that. It could be her way of thanking Heavenly Father for the resources she (and we) have.
    7. They could not be getting married in a temple. The salt lake is not the only temple. There are 100 plus others. The important thing is that they are going to be sealed for time and eternity.
    8. Receptions can be costly. Also if your parents were divorced it can be weird and very stressful.
At least she is inviteing you to the wedding.
    9. Some poeple get breast reductions because they were teased exstensively for having big breasts in school. It is not nice to be called milk chug, utter girl and cow. I have a friend that was called those things many times and it can kill the self esteme. Also perverted guys tend to stare and it is NOT a good feeling knowing what gross thoughts are going through their heads.

    10. How is her getting an educatuion bad? She doesn't have kids right now so what do you want her to do. Waste her time? Women are encouraged to get an education so they can provide for them and their families should something happen to their husband that makes it so he can't

    11. Maybe she recieved personal revelation that she was sopost to serve a mission. It is a possibility and I'm sure she learned alot about the goesple.

    12. I'm pritty sure you said something about haveing a reception in the cultural hall being bad. If I'm wrong sorry and please skip this part. If I'm right you need to consider that she might not have the money for a reception hall. Also there is nothing wrong with having one in the cultural hall. I have been to many lovely receptions in them. If you are creative enough you can make them beautiful. Also you probably just insulted over 50% of the church members.

    13. It is NOT her fault that her parents divorced. There are NO reasons you should ever think less of someon because of there parents choices. I am assumeing that you do not know the reasons her parents split so for all you know there is a very good reason. In no way does that make her a bummer. I am shocked and assume that you have had a very sheltered life because of your posting that. Also if you have to say no offense to something it is offensive and 99% will most likely still be taken that way. So yah, I DO find that offensive and I am sure she would too.

    14. wearing large amounts of white at a wedding is NOT polite to the bride or her family.

If I were you I would start counting the blessings you are getting by her becoming a part of your family. I know many people that would gladly trade you. In my opinion you are seriously so blessed.
Be happy and I hope that all goes well with you and your babies.

  99. WOW!!! Rissa I don't think ANYONE has missed the big picture of this blogspot BIGGER than you. Way to go! You're the winner! In the opinion of a non-active Mormon, you are the DEFINITION of the type of LDS girl TAMN is satirically writing about. I would die of clear amazement if you had a SINGLE non-LDS friend. Not that you don't like that type of girl, just that you choose not to surround yourself with such unrighteousness. Next time you decide to get on a soapbox about someone else's blog why don't you just put a linc to your own blog & soapbox away!

  100. Rissa,
Bless you. If you are being serious, then that is kinda sweet of you to step in to defend poor, imaginary Ruth. If you are being funny, then you are really funny and your "defend the little guy" comment is hilarious. It is just so darn nice of you or hilarious of you, I just am not sure which.

  101. I think Rissa is seriously so concerned. Perhaps she's the anti-TAMN. Heaven knows we have plenty of those in the church as well.

Love the "unmodest cloathing", "pritty", and "sopost" if they were intentional. Don't be offended if they weren't. :)

  104. This is a no brainer!! Grandma has definately got to be called Shugee.
1st of all because it makes no sence.
2nd because I bet your Mom is really young since you are so young and hip, so who wants to be called Grandma! Eww!! So OLD! Shugee is hip, young and it isn't anywhere close to the old fogie name Grandma
3rd because it would totally cute on a custom made stamp from stampin. I invision flowers and cute little spring birds in the background??
As for a grandpa name...who cares, Grandmas (Shugee's) get all the glory!! Just go for Papa. :O)

  105. My sis-in-law is Philopeano and speaks Tagalin. "Lola" is grandma in her language, so that's what all the kids in the fam call her!!

We call my Dad Papa. Just for the heck of it.

Aunt = Tita with the "ee" sound
    Uncle = Tito

  106. TAMN! No more texting during church. Elder Oaks said it loud and clear!

  107. Pray about it. This is eternal identity stuff. God will definitely want to be involved. You can run God's errands like Pres Monson said today.

  111. The grandkids call my dad "Bucka" which is cute but I also like "Poppy" like on Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

  112. Wow I almost had a heart attack there...I thought that you were talking about Ruth Winder my cousin who is engaged. But apparently not, because I talked to her last night and she's not engaged. Anyways, you don't know me but I get the idea that you know Ruth and Jessi so I decided to look at your blog. You are very popular, 1500 comments...wow!

  113. Maga.. the prettiest grandma is Maga. It is cute and sounds more like mother than grandma
Noni, and Papa are good too. Nona. I like granddad. When my son was four and his granddad died, he called him granddead... isn't that too cute?
