BOOed (the nice kind)

Seriously you guys, I am so in love with FHE! Our neighbor "booed us" which was neat but totally gross of them, I mean, the rice krispy treats were yum but generic (not that I had any, I just sniffed JJWT's before he ate 'em) and the paper with a ghost on it was ok but sad bc it was just a photocopy, zero sassy. Love sassy. Had to totally redo the poem so it was fab instead of lame. You can tell whoever it was isn't an extra miler. Unless it was you. In which case, LOVE YOU and THANX for totally making my day! :)

Anyway, the poem said to pass it on which I took to mean make it awesome. Baked up some homemade pretzels from TOTAL scratch in a few minutes (takes most people all day) then dipped them in yummy-nummy chocolate and cut Splenda-sprinkles into the shape of itty bitty kitty cats and witch hats and rolled them in car-mull and put them in different colored baggies and took each paper and punctured them with uniquely-shaped hole punches and attached them to each baggie, THEN cut out the tops of the bags to look like witches hat's!! Bummer there aren't Halloween-themed scriptures or church quotes or it would of been even better. But, L-O-V-E HOW THEY TURNED OUT. Then I added a bumload of black fringe and stamped up the following poem:

We started to carve a pumkin
with our carving knife and scoop
But the pumkin got so scared
he took a little poop.

It looked so cute and funny
and good enough to eat!
So we brought it to you
for a Halloweenie treat!

My hub and feti are the best
Though this I bet you know
Hope you luv all these ell-bees
Since you can't afford Anthro.

LOL! :)

Anyway, I didn't want them to know it was me, BUT I also didn't want to miss the opp to network, so I went ahead and stuck a label for my home-based party consultant biz on the bottom. What do you think, new tradition?

Oh! That was from YOU??

Did you and JJWT include six to eight of those classy little cards in your wedding announcements to let people know all the places you'd registered? Just a guess...

On behalf of all of us, THANK YOU FOR GOING THE EXTRA MILE, and thank you for the label at the bottom.

I can't imagine why there aren't more churchy halloween things.

It always makes me feel so loved when we're the first in the neighborhood/work to get"the ghost". It's a nice anlogy to give the youngwimmenz too...those who are more richus get the "ghost" more ofun. Be sure you make plenty of those things for the trunk or treat party at church.

Did you get the paper to flash, too??

I hate to miss a networking opprotunity!

LUV the smell of rice krispie treats! Total splurge!
The "pumpkin poop" surprise we found on our door step last night made us feel so special. You are so spiritchal. Thanks for shining your light!

cheri said...

Hahahaha! We really DID get that very poem last night with some treats!

Only without that last stanza. Shoot.

We still really got it though. Haha!

On a scale from 1-10 this is even more awesomer than Twilight. (Is that even legal?)

Your poem was definatly better than the only Halloween-themed scripture I can think of: "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." What a downer, right?

Seriously great new tradition!

Oh. My. Heck! Home-based party tags? BRILLIANT, way to maximize your inspiration!

I'm still waiting for my bag of poo. I'll just keep leaving the porch light on for you. I'm sure it is just taking an extra long time to decorate my ghost. Just, you know, whenever you get a chance...

*sigh*

I hate to make other people feel bad about themselves, but I just have to share the funniest thing ever.
We got boo-ed for the SECOND time last night.
We had the ghost on our door and everything. I guess we are just so awesome that they couldn't resist.
But now the question is "Do I have to pass it on again?"

That poem is rude. What if whoever brought it to you reads this blog and sees you thought their kind gesture was dumb?? It is really stupid to put your business card on something that is supposed to be a SECRET and ANNONYMOUS.

Generic rice krispie treats and a photopied ghost? You should move. Or better yet, ask your neighbors to move.

Connie said...

Oh my heck! You are MY people!

We got Booed last night too and I am totally redoing the poem and making a KICK A bag to put my goodies in.

Love the Poem!

Your poem was so perfect. I never would have known it was you. I'm so glad you put your home based consultant sticker on your treats. I was thinking of doing the same. What do you think??

Wow TAMN, you did that all while scrapbooking for the the feti's and planning your next cute-slash-darling home party business? Themed-ness is the best way to be. I love the idea that there were forty steps involved with the pumpkin poop, because I have a hard time filling my time up during the day. Awesome idea!

Sara Steele, we'll just have to take you under our bloggy wings until you can fly freely by yourself. TAMN's seriously blessed life has blessed mine, and it can bless yours, too, if you just have faith.

Jennie said...

Another great post. I love that I can LOL each time I visit your blog. If only the world could be so perfect.

Whitney R said...

Wait... so, the pumpkin poo is the candy and treats? Or do you really honestly truly just give them a basket of pumpkin guts?

I'm trying to decide if I would want you to drive ALL the way here to boo me...

Lobbie said...

TAMN your poetry is EM-A-ZING!!!!!!!!! You should be nominatd for that poet-Laurel thing. Do you have to be a Laurel though? WHatev, you totally look 16 still, so I bet theyll just hand it to u!

So TAMN, I just have to say that you are soo hilarious and I just love the way you write! So creative. Anyways-I live in Southern California, and I'm sure you have heard about the Prop 8 Protect Marriage and Family's deal that we are battling with at this upcoming election, and I was just wondering, since your website gets so many hits a day, if you would be willing to post the Vote Yes on Prop 8 banner on you site? You never know who it will reach! Just got to my blog or I think you can google it. Thanks for taking the time to read this comment.

I hate being boo'd but I suppose if I took your approach, it could be wayyyyyy more fun. Maybe, if I gave myself credit, it would be worth having to come up with something within 24 hours notice and go pelting into the night to leave an anonymous treat. Or maybe not.

SuddenlySouthernCyndi said...

Ugh! I miss the "Boo-ing"! We have it here in CA (it made it over from UT) but for some odd reason we don't get Boo'd. Sad, I know. Of course it could have something to do with political signs.... oh, and speaking of which, shame on one of the above commenters for suggesting you spread the word about a particular Prop. That deserves a "Boo!" and not the good kind.

cheri said...

God bless this blog and whoever is behind it.

Goob said...

we love "spooking" at Halloween, its the best! ( especially when it goes all wrong...see todays entry...)oh, and our cookies really did look like pumpkin poo because I let my 5 year old son decorate them. We had to put some packaged candy in there because the cookies really did not appear to be anything edible...LOL

It's all about the branding TAMN. Create the buzz for you and your feti so you can keep getting pedis. That is what it's all about...PR baby...and no, that doesn't stand for personal record....although, I think they should rename PR to TAMN-R. Hmm, something to ponder this Halloween season. Looking for 'scary scriptures.' Just read Helaman 6...sounds way too familiar and scary for me!

Melinda said...

We haven't been "booed" yet, but I fear it's coming. I hope it isn't too tacky to just re-gift the same treats the next night. It would be so much easier if I could just swipe a photocopied ghost from someone else and hang it in my window.

I am not worthy of TAMN's Boo.

rachael said...

i love sassy, too!

cbo said...

I totaly agree w/ peterson clan. Luv ya TAMN! We booed last night... I hope you didn't re-type up our poem! JK LOL

HAHAHA!! How long have all those new blinkies been on the side?? My neck belongs to Edward?? Gross! I mean, awesome.

For Peterson Clan:

Maybe a political blog would suit you better! Of course we're all pro-prop-8, because if weddings were same sex, who gets to wear the dress??? TOO COMPLICATED!!!

dharvey said...

I agree w/ Kathryn -- the Peterson Klan and their "Days on Daisy Drive" needs a political blog. These are exactly the kind of "absolutely perfect" ppl that TAMN is satirizing.

As for Halloween scripchers, Abinadi wears a disguise so I think that shows that even profits like costumes and dressing up!

I can't stop laughing at the the way you "spiced" up that poem! you are soooooo poetic and amazing that I can't believe we don't have a book of poems by lil ol' you! Oh and of course a book of all your ideas that you've come up with! :)

TAMN, the only thing funnier than your fantastic bloggability is the people that read it and don't understand. Makes my day EVERY single time. :)

"we'll just have to take you under our bloggy wings until you can fly freely by yourself..." - that's a beautiful response! It is now less likely someone will angrily slam shut the computer and never visit us again. We're fun - ya gotta keep reading!

"Proud to be a TAMNerican!" - TAMN, ya just gotta put that on your t-shirt list. Hey - I love the new Diet Coke shirts - they feel and fit great!

... until you can fly freely by yourself... That's awesome.

I really am clueless. I love, love Rice Krispie treats. I think they're the best. Haven't tried pumpkin poo...

Naw. You need to play some video games or something. I mean... treats were a good start... but no entertainment is way too boring!

I know you are a fan of the creator of Twilight, and I suspect you must have discovered her latest book "The Host," hence the song added to your playlist, "New Soul."
