WHAT? You can't leave Zion!!

shelley said...

Just think what missionary opportunities you'll have in pre-school!

Anonymous said...

SAD!!! TAMN, I'm just crying now! How could JJWT DO that to you? That's terrible! :(

Emily said...

So is everything outside Utah considered the "mission filled" to some? If so that's pretty dang funny. Anyway, I'm looking forward to this story line!

Kathy said...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

Sweet Em said...

Your mom is coming with you rite?

keighty said...

Aw, TAMN! I'm moving to the mission filled too! What a wonderful opportunity for your rightchus light to shine. What better missionary work is there than to show the world you can be a perfect mommy of twins AND still make time for manis/pedis?

MidCityGal said...

Wow. That's going to be rough for you. You'll have to move out of your parent's basement and start paying for groceries and clothes and rent all by yourself.

The mission filled? Ahhh! How are you going to hold up your uber-high standards with all those no-mos around.

And what's even worse than that is that when you live in the mission filled, it's even harder to get your hands on all that Shade, Modbe, vinyl lettering, digital scrapbooking, and Stampin' up stuff that is ONLY available in the great state of Utah.

Believe me, I live in the mission filled and I miss my fro-yo and priesthood session GNO's like crazy! And I can never find huge flowered bows to put on my baby's head. Thank goodness for etsy-- otherwise I'd feel really left out on all the fashions!!!

This is a tragedy.

Nelda said...

Ooo! Sorry to hear that, but...
Can I have your Seven Peaks summer pass?

K,S&P said...

Oh, you are so blessed - think about it - a hole new ward to dote on your twinsies... Oh wait - does this mean that heartnugget won't be bishop now? Hmmmm. Can't he find an internship in Zion?

Polly said...

Wow...that sounds tough. And not just TAMNers tough. Pioneer-children-sang-as-they-walked-and-walked-and-walked tough. No Glamma, no Queenie, no MiaMaids, (maybe) no Anthro. (On the other hand, no Lynzii.) Alone all day in a cramped apartment...maybe student housing!...your adorability completely unnoticed and unappreciated. Perhaps you'll even be perceived as weird instead of righteous, what with the capped sleeves and the no-thank-you to Starbucks. You might want to say no to this, despite AngelSac's priesthood authority. Use anything that you think might work: your third-degree tear, your commitment to the MiaMaids, Gang Activity in the mission field. OR...you could go all Obama and take Glamma or Queenie with you. OR...you could stay behind in Zion, and seek above-the-neck solace in the arms of ex-boyfriends.

Frau said...

Excuse me? Where is your righteousness? The members of the church outside of Utah need the gospel so badly and you have been called to bring it to them.

God would have forced the search committees to reject him if it wasn't His will. Because you know, God does not allow you to make any poor decisions.

Cindy said...

You are going to be such a great example of a REAL Mormon to those unfortunate sisters in the field!

Anonymous said...

Oh no! Where? Idaho???

Kerry said...

I just laughed so hard I snorted.

I can't wait for this.

Brittany said...

SF Bay Area please!

JenJen said...

Oh TAMN, where? Please say you're coming to our ward in Indiana. We don't have any triplets or even twins in our ward and you would definitely be the hottest woman there. Beside, my husband's the bishop. I can get you any calling you want!

Kristina P. said...

Wow, this literally is the end of the world.

You'll probably be in a place where they have never even heard of Mormons.

Like Lily Allen said, she had to Google Mormons, and she still doesn't get what they are. You'll probably move next door to her.

Try not to stress too much. What's the worst that can happen?

Token Asian Friend said...

It's ok, stay calm. You lived out of state for eight months after you were born. You did it then, and look at what you have become!

Anonymous said...

What will you do without Cafe Rio? TAMN, can't you just stay with your mom and make him go alone like normal law/biz/med/dental wives?

Emily said...

But, TAMN,

Were is it?

And what about you're dad's company? I totally thought he would do his intrenship there...

And when are you movine?

Libby the Teacher said...

It'll seriously make you so much stronger because of all the adversity unlike Zion where life is a serious cakewalk 24/7. Now you can consider yourself a real Mormon and can start dissing on Utah Mormons and how easy they have it. Get ready for becoming extra righteous!

Laura Moffitt said...

How on earth could he even think that let alone do it!! What about those sweet babies!! I will pray for you.

Motorcycle Grandma said...

Oh, TAMN honey, it will be OK. It's only for a few months. Besides, just think of it as an vacay. Because I'm sure that JJWT would only take an out of state internship that had sand and surf where you wear your modest bikini every day.

And if you call it a vacay, there should be no problem getting glamma and queenie to come along so that you can relax at the beach while they take care of the twinners.

Look on the bright side.

Anonymous said...

What about Cafe Rio? How can you survive without that?

Beth said...

TAMN, seriously. You R going to be such a grate example to all of the nomos this summer. Besides there won't be the huge congregations in your new ward so you will def be the center of attention. I mean, I live all the way in Alabama (SERIOUSLY far out in the filled) and I have missionary experiences every day, no Every HOUR! Think of the masses you will convert.

Anonymous said...

Guess that meanz Linziis hubby gets to be the bishop.

Janelle said...

But what if he gets called into the bishopric? He can't say KNOW to a calleen!

Whitney said...

I feel a JJWT post coming on!

Stephanie said...

Just FYI - the "mission field" people don't like it when you refer to it as the "mission field." They are Zion, too!!

Where are you going? All the way to Idaho? or are you venturing out into the depths of Arkansas?

Anonymous said...

Frills TAMN, no worries - you can fly back to Utah with the twinners on weekends. Glamma and Queenie will be so excited to see them that you can just drop them off and spend all your time with your girls at Anthro and Spoon Me. What are student loans for, right? Plus its like an investment, with the frequent flier miles and all.

AND JJWT will really appreciate the baby-free time he can spending focusing on his internship and increasing his future earning potential. Gosh TAMN, you're such a giver.

Kathi said...

Just think how much you will be able to share your glory-us-ness with everyone in the world. AND more of mother earth will be able to see you babies~

Charity said...

Oh, yeah!! Now you and JJWT can bless all of the lives of those unfortunate souls who don't know how to be REAL Mormons. You know, the ones who think NO bikini is modest and that plastic surgery is against the plan. You will be such a blessing to their lives, what with your darling twinners, your fashionable clothing (they won't realize you could wear those with garments), and your understanding of the Gospel. Of course you will be so valuable to your non-member neighbors too, with your knowledge of the plan. You'll be a stellar missionary!! You do remember the Articles of Faith from Primary, don't you?

Anonymous said...

Can't you just move in with your parents for the summer so you don't have to suffer through that?

The Price Family said...

OM! You got it so right with the UT members thinking they do not live in the mission field! Funny though, the UT missions are the highest english speaking baptizing missions in the WORLD! Provo South was the highest in 2008:) When members say things to the missionaries serving in UT about 'out in the mission field' it is the strangest thing! What are missionaries doing in UT then?!

Anonymous said...

Can't you just move in with your parents so you don't have to suffer through that?

Jamie said...

Well, it is perfectly normal to "sacrifice" angel babe time for your lovely twinzies and stay in Utah where you will have several volunteeers to take care of your kids for you since you a poor single parent and JJWT can fly in every weekend (wouldn't want him to go to church outside of the Happy valley . . .)

marlamuppets said...

come to Minnesota. we'd love to have you there. then you could stand up in fasten testimonee meeting and say 'utah is the promised land, but you people from minnesota don't know any better'.

DangGina said...

I guess this means he couldn't accept Bishoprichood this time around?

Lindsey said...

good, this should help keep things interesting around here! plenty of drama out in the mission field i assure you.

Cheryl said...

Oh, I have so many things to say that I don't know where to start...I can't decide whether to laugh or cry, either. You would not believe the frownsmiles I got when I told people I was moving from Zion-aka Spaneesh Fark--to the filled. There is life outside Utah, I promise (and it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better!). Just think of it--your neighbors won't frownsmile at you while you are doing yard work (aka watching JJWT mow) in your modest bikini. No more explanations about how the WoW doesn't specifically exclude Diet Coke. No one cares! Oh my heck, you will feel so righteous because you will stand out on your moral high ground. Go, my eBFF. Go.

Alissa said...

If you're going to NYC, make to sure to wear as many different pastel colors as possible so you can really stand out in the crowd at church on Sundays. And seriously, try to out-pastel all of the other Utah women stuck there for the summer with their angelbunzes. You'll feel way better about yourself that way.

B and K said...

I was SO spintzy when I was 21 so I went on a mission... and guess where they sent me? The UPM - UTAH PROVO MISSION. I LOVED it when we got comments from EVERYONE living in Utah about their missions "back in the mission field". I mean Utah is totally NOT the mission field. Just keep it on the DL when you move out of zion and to a different state for the summer, though... there's some people out there that think Utah mormons should stay in UTAH. But secretly they are just jealous that they are not richteous enough to live in ZION.

Anonymous said...

omg you are so luckeeee! Now you get to rub it in to all of your friends in zion how adventurous and selfless you are! And you get to become the absolute expert on a new location! so jealous right now.

Kemi said...

I'm dying to know... did this internship get "excepted" (hee hee) BEFORE or AFTER JJWT didn't get called to be Bishop?

Heidi Ashworth said...

The only important thing to ask is "will there be internet?"

Candice said...

TAMN! The mishun filled is tons of fun! I live here! Think about how much your light will shine!!!

brossettelewis said...

OH YA. Now you can talk about "utah mormons" or "how we did it in Zion". I loved those people when they came to the mish...telling us poor plain members how it is in UTAH!!! Get ready to be the RS prez, ya know they will want you to lear their fold.

Megan Gery said...

OMG TAMN! life in the mission filled is so hard you wont even beleave it! i think you should stay in utah and leave the mission filled to us frumps. i mean, too much stress might give you frownlines, and then you wouldnt be the hottest wife ever. what would the mia maids think?

mindij said...

O.M.Goodness!!! Frownsmile! I was hoping to run into you at Cossco! Now what do I have to look forward to????

Jo said...

I think this is God's way of telling you to let your light shine! You are so ritchous and this will give everyone in the filled to know that not all Mormon mommies can be yummy and hot without all the frump and ugly. You can do it, I know you can!

The Boob Nazi said...

But how is he going to do summer sales if he's doing an internship???

Laurel said...

Hmmm... that could make JJWT's serving as the bishop interesting. But I guess worse things have happened then serving as bishop remotely, right?

kjean said...

OMG! That is the way sad/bad/trying news! But at least your twins can be good examples to all those apostates in the mission filled! You will be the most beautiful riteous example ever!

mookie mama said...

love love LOVE when utahans call everywhere else the mission field. LOVE it.

Jean said...

TAMNers, if you need ANY advise on living out in the mission filled, ANY advice, let me know, because we've been away from Zion for like three years now. People wear SHORT SHORTS and TANK TOPS here, and some of them say H-E-double-hockey-sticks, and there are SO MANY more people who I have to be an awsome example to besides just the other girls in the ward who aren't as humble or sexy as me. It is SO HARD, but its okay because I am strong and so are you!!!!!!!

Mhana said...

OK hear is some super good advise for you.
1) Refer to Utah as Zion. It will make it seem like the saints in Oregon/Alberta/Virginia/Iowa are just a little unrighteous for not living where YOU live.
2)Make sure you stand out from the crowd. DO NOT ADAPT TO LAID-BACK WEST-COAST WAYS where LDS women don't use hairspray and often don't even put on makeup, even for church! Show your Zion spirit by only wearing Old Navy/Gap/Anthro gear.
3) Try not to make friends, or if you do make sure you gravitate to other temporary Zion transplants. We mission filders LURVE having cliquey Utah Mormons move into our wards but don't meet anyone or really participate. Don't invest, you're only there temporarily.

Jen said...

did JJWT even consult you on this? how could he make such a huge decision without your input?

i sense marital strife.

Anonymous said...

I hope it is AZ we have Cafe Rio and none of the FREEZING weather.

Nerd Goddess said...

Don't worry TAMNers, the church is still true in Idaho.

Julia said...

Think of this as an opertunity to be a richus example!

When your axed to give talks in you're new ward, make sure to tell the really long super-cute story of how you met and fell in love with and married JJWT! Don't waste any time on doctrine or anything! And then be sure to bare your testimony of how you're so glad you "really" live in Zion instead of out in the mission filled where everyone is so apostate. You will be such an inspirashun to the ward (or branch! OMG, what if it's a BRANCH?!)

Kori said...

It is okay TAMNers. I did that last summer and went to California of all places. You might get a lot of funny comments about how many kids you have and such, but enjoy it! And laugh with them!!!!!

AshliO said...

this would all be funny if it wasn't true.

whitney.evan said...

I hope its CA for you so you can take the twinners to the beach in their matching swimsuits and you can work on your tan!

It HAS to be China....that is theee

Just think of all the missionary ops.
Whoopsie! Not just yet. Not on the Mainland. Your 'glowing spirit' will be enough for now. Plus, think of all the $$ you'll save on diapers.

Jordan said...

Oh, TAMNers! Just think what a blessing you'll be wherever you go. Everyone knows the only people who can run a ward come from Zion.

Sadie said...

As long as the mish has internet its going to be okay! YOU. CAN. DO. IT.

Vanessa Contessa said...

I'm pretty sure your being punished for the twinsie fauxhawk and tutu Easter ensembles.

I mean, really, those were so last year. It's probably part of the plan that you venture out and realize that...

Whitney R said...

Oooo, coming to REXBURG IDAHO?! It's totally the cool place to be.....

Megan said...

will you take your blog with you?

Super L said...

TAMN, you just have to make sure that you have your dad call your future bishop and let him know you guys are coming (make sure he mentions that he was a SP, so they will know the caliber of people that are coming), and when to arrange the EQ and RS to help you move in, and bring meals, and babysit and everything. They will understand, because nobody has ever been asked to do anything harder than move away from their families for THREE WHOLE MONTHS!

And make SURE you bring all your furniture with you because even though it says furnished, it will NOT be furnished with Pottery Barn! And what is the EQ FOR I ask you?

Then make sure you leave a few weeks before JJWT, so the EQ can move you back without you having to actually HELP, and then just ask the RS pres to send people to clean your apt for you. You are so awesome I'm sure they will be happy to serve you and your twinsy goodness.

Stephanie said...

no problem. We'll all go with you.

Mandy said...

Calm down, TAMN! My husband had his biz school internship last summer in Las Vegas, and it was such a testimony building experience to live a righteous life among all those heathens. You'll be fine!

Amalie said...

the "hole" summer!?! That is a trial.

Amalie said...

the "hole" summer!?! That is a trial.

The G Fam said...

Tamners-just think, you get to bare your testimony about your richusness and how this is such a huge trial (and of course, just barely after having twins of course) and than when you come back, you can tell everyone about your own personal mission and how it helped you grow. BTW, I am an east-coast baby and I LOVE the wards I lived in growing up!

Stephanie said...

I wish you would surprise us one day and do two posts in a day.

Anonymous said...

but not until after the trip to Pal, right?

Ginger said...

WHAT?!?!? Who is going to help me pick out shoes on shopping days??? I'm going to be lost without your expert help. At least you won't have to worry about your light being hid underneath someone else's bushel whose name rhymes with Blynz-Tii (*wink**wink*)

debbie said...

You will totally be asked to give firesides to all the wards in the whole state of....wherever you are going. Everyone will want to know how they do stuff in Zion, and you will be the resident authority. When you come back to the promised land after the internship ends, people all over the country rilly will want to be just like you.

Catie said...

(FrOwNsMiLe) Oh TAMN, this brakes my heart. All the other eBFFs are right, you will be amazine. BUT I will miss you tonz. Yea theres still the innernet and hopfully you will have some time to write a cupple of posts for me to get by, but its just not the same if your not in Zion. Tell me you an JJWT are going to have a discussion about this. Maybee you can send a relly cool care package to his internship office to "help" them change the location. Frills.

kris and judd said...

But TAMN, I thought only frumps spend time in the mission filled!

My favorite is when the Utah transplants move to rainy climates but still pray for moisture in every church prayer (and are grateful for the moisture, which falls regularly). Make sure to do that!

Think about it this way...you're getting away from Lynzii (even though you were totally hotter than she was anyway) and you're going to a new ward where you'll have all new people to look at your hot mommy-ness.
