ew.

hellllp!

my big day of blessing the babies

{JJWT is technically the one doing it but we all know its really an inflection on ME}
is about to be ruined.

Not only is it raining so my decorated gazebo is going to waste, but...

ick...

guys, I can't even type it.

*deep breath-ing**

Alivyiah & Tridger decided to get freaking acne this morning and are covered in the world's most horrible ugly teensy baby zits.

It is SOOOOOO gross.

ugh.

I wish they had photoshop for real life.

oh my, how tragic for you. good thing mine never had that

JAMIE said...

Maybe you could slather them in Stridex.

If not, makeup on babies is totally acceptable, be sure to use a good coverup and foundation.

And little Alivyiah would look totally angelic with "smokey eyes".

They DO have real life photoshop, and it's called makeup.

Just so you know though if you put your MAC concealer on Tridger it might turn him gay.

I bet Lynzii's triplets didn't have acne.

People took my comment. Make up is TOTALLY necessary.

haha...you are too funny! Sometimes I don't get this blog but it is always a good laugh for me!

Unknown said...

yeah. Srsly on the make up, I mean if the fence needs paint...

Unknown said...

Sometimes tanning beds clear up acne- you should definitely take them for just, like, 10 minutes or something.

Ha! THese comments are as funny as the blog!

I am laughing so hard. Yes, the baby blessing is typically when the acne shows up.

Seriously, just curl up in a liddle ball in your KiNG size bed and cry your life away....ObViOuSlY the only option :/

Blessing-day acne strikes again!

Whitney R said...

you know those are genetic, right? What have you been hiding from us Tamn???

Stephanie said...

Wow, BOTH of them? that is really selfish of them. This is YOUR image we're talking about. You should have an emergency FHE today about really being there for family and not ruining people's big days. Their baby blessing is HUGE for you, but they're not thinking about that. I'm sure all they need is a gentle reminder. Handle it well, and by tomorrow it'll be all cleared up, and you'll look like a great mom. Emergency FHE on selflessness. For the babies.

Brossettelewis said...

I am sorry YOUR big day will be ruined? Bonnets, eww no? Makeup? Run them to Nordstroms, see what they can do. I've heard tanning beds work too, even know of a nanny-friend that was directed to tan the baby for family picts. Nothing looks hotter than tanned twins!

Smokey eyes are a must on her blessing day. She will look back at her baby pics and LOVE YOU FOREVER!

Lindsay said...

Oh poor TAMN! (In all seriousness, a little baby soap on a baby finger toothbrush helps a lot. Not that mine ever needed it...)

dharvey said...

Oh, Tamn, the babies are so adorable that they will be a wonderful inflection on you; and no one will notice their acne. (Just use a little makeup on them. You can wash it off right afterwards).

However, that's too bad that the rain ruined your darling decorated gazebo. That is a real necessity for a baby blessing. What a trail ! Bear up, my dear. XOXO-D.

Maren Hansen said...

That has happened with all four of my babies. No matter if we blessed them at 2 weeks or 8 weeks... :) I'm sure they're still the most beautiful pimply kids on the block...

Shoebox Princess said...

Duh, makeup. Isn't that what makeup was put on this earth for?

And have you told JJWT what he's supposed to say in the blessing yet?

The Gossiper said...

On second thought, can't you get cortisone shots for treatment of acne in an emergency?

sarah said...

You mean you haven't already taught Alivyiah how to wear make-up? (and tridger how to cover up without really making it look like he's wearing it)

This is prolly a blessing in disguise b/c i bet linziis kids have been wearing it since they left the womb.

Kirstin Klaire said...

i think the twinsies need some heavy coverup stat! oooo! and you should add some bronzer for a angelic summertime glow. btw, have you considered botox yet for those unsightly baby-cry crinkle lines?

Kristen said...

Hmmm... well, the babies will be up on the stand so people won't get too close of a look. Distract them away from their faces with an adorable ginorm hairbow for Alivyiah and some really trendy/metro little hat for Tridger! Then wisk them away after the blessing for their "health" aka, prevention of potential embarrassment!

Anonymous said...

But what if it's not just acne? I bet they have the SWINE FLU!

Anonymous said...

ps, putting acne medicine on your babies only makes it worse, ask my retarded friend who put stuff on here baby... and ps... is baby acny really such a horrble life altering tragic thing to happen? poor girl had to go get worldly....

Megan Gery said...

all the more reason for a second blessing in DC, you know, after it's all cleared up!

Unknown said...

as to taking off the play list, please don't!!!!!!!! I hear some awesome songs from you. I listen to country and never would've heard crush or the climb if it hadn't been for your blog. Better get them to pay you for all the publicity!

Stephanie said...

TAMN deep breathe! No one will even notice, they will only be focused on the cutesy outfits the twins will be wearing. Plus I am sure that Lynzii's triples will have baby acne and it will be three times as bad since they are triplets and all.

Anonymous said...

What? Didn't you think to take Accutane? (Not for yourself obviously, but to prevent this when your children get their dose of your perky boob juice). Everyone knows the best thing for newbies is Accutane!

Goob said...

you had better start scrubbin' now! Wash those cheeks raw, and don't forget those scalps. If they get cradle cap on top of the acne, you're just plain screwed. YOu won't be able to leave the house for a month until it clears up. Trust me, just as a crying baby like good intentions should be carried out immediately, so should the public be spared the sight of crusty kids.

Gigi said...

Seriously, TAMN. Postpone. You'd be better off blessing them in the mission field anyway. Then all the people in your new ward will feel sorry for you with two babies and no family and you have insta-babysitting for all your shopping trip desires. All you have to do is tell your current ward that group gatherings spread the swine flu. As the Best Mommy Ever, everyone will understand your fierce protective instinct.

Amber Baker said...

The best stuff is aquaphor--I swear by it. Clears up baby zits pronto. At least it worked with my dd.

Lisa said...

TAMN!!! Everyone knows NOT to bless on Fast Sunday. Ew-- there might be other blessings and they won't leave you and JJWT enough time to share the your righteous testimonies of how awesome it is being parents. There's still time. The hundred family visitors you have coming will for sure understand when you call to reschedule.

Kami said...

Just make sure nobody gets too close. They look fine from a distance!!

I also sort of love how your blog has turned into, "Things that can (really!) happen when you have babies!" It really helps the rest of us feel normal.

Anonymous said...

clearly a bad reflection on jeans from jjwt's side of the family. ugh. joining you in frownies.

Anonymous said...

you could try a teensy bit of concealer...it's never too early to teach those babies about what is really important!!!

dang rain! doesn't it know that this is your big day? hope you are able to enjoy it anyway!

only 8 days until your 3 degree tear heals! you must be so proud!

MY FIRST SMILE OF THE DAY. THANKS TAMNERS!

Anonymous said...

Ummm... TAMN... not to freak you out or nething, but if both of them have it ALL OVER and not just in the problem spots like their adorable little chins and noses and T-Zones, what if it's chicken pocks?? Maybe have JJWT in all his richisnus give them a father's blessing. That will heel them instantly.

I sooooooo want to know what you served for the dinner after!

It is fast Sunday so everyone will be STARVING when you get out :/

Woman, I wish this all the time. If only.

This is so true, it should be scripture.

I just think it's so weird that you and I (or anyway our spouses) (or actually Heavenly Father via our spouses, if you want to get technical, but you probably don't want to get technical,) blessed our babies on the same day. My baby's complexion was beautiful, creamy and rosy. In fact, she's only ever had one teeny cute little recurring spot next to her nose. But, she cried throughout her blessing (she would stop crying whenever my husband stopped talking,) and he admitted he truncated the blessing a little bit for her sake and also because it's hard to think when a baby's crying. So I bet overall you (and your babies) came out ahead, with their more comprehensive blessings -- unless the Aquaphor and tanning didn't work and you canceled the blessing after all (in which case, win/win.)

Angela said...

Total bummer about the twinsie's baby-acknee. I hope their blessing goes well anyway dispite the icky bumps. I totally hope you told JJWT exactly what to bless them with in their baby blessing. You have to make sure YOUR dreams and hopes are magnified through the priesthood.
