yum!

{One} of the things I LOVE LOVE LOVE about being home is THE FOOD since there was like NOWHERE TO EAT in DC!

but here? AUTHENTIC YUM!

Guys, I've had rio for the last five meals. This means I have 3/8 of a pork salad w/ shredded lettuce left.

I still can't get myself to eat less than half a Cafe Rio salad at a time.

And by "half" I mean "I pretend it's half and sneak some extra bites while my husband's not looking". =p

You know how much money I could save by learning to emulate your wonderful self-restraint?

I'd go from size 10 to size 0 in no time!!

Ew, TAMN. You STILL eat 1/8th of a Rio Salad per meal? I thought you only ate that much when you were preggo with twins.

But, then again, that's the lure of hometown cooking.

Oooo... going there tonight - can't wait!

I just spent 2 weeks in Zion and didn't even eat at Rio once. Now I'm back in DC with nowhere to eat. What am I to do?

I did eat quite a few authentic Utah shakes, though, but you wouldn't know about that.

If you had the chicken instead, then you wouldn't have any left! Way yummier than the pork!

TAMN, you could have so totally been a pioneer with your super rationing skills! Way to live providently!

Dani said...

3/8? Um, just bc your in Zion, doesn't mean you should pig out on the manna. Just sayin. {frownsmile}

Bran said...

You should splurge and eat the last 3/8s all in one sitting!

Rachel said...

You can stretch that out to 5 or 6 more meals!

Wow TAMN. Those are some mad math skills. Fractions?!?! Whoever said you were dumb was like totally wrong!

Dianna said...

Snort.

Easy there. I know it's tempting to go hog wild, well little piglet-wild, with "real" food, but you don't want to blow up like a balloon.

ummm be careful, i think they soak their pork in coke with =caffeine! no wonder you're addicted. they sure know how to pray on Utah-ites.

So hysterical.

Oh what I would give for a take out box of pork lo mein from the Chinese place that was just down the street from my home in DC...sigh...

I'm pretty sure that even 1/8 of a pork salad is more calories than allowed by your HCG diet. {frownsmile}

I fill like we are sole mates. When I got back to the ritchous state of Utah after a summer away (frownsmile) my first mill was at rio!!! And you'll be proud, I only ate like a bite of my burrito! Though apparently burritos are like way fattening, but it's okay because I'm so tiny that I could use a forth of an ell-bee or so on my petite frame. ;)

TAMNers I'm so glad I get to be youre e-friend!

lol.. I was the personal assistant for the last year for the original owners and founders of cafe rio... they sold it 4 years ago. Get excited... cuz they are opening a new restaurant... Italian Food... all made from scratch. It will be opening in Orem hopefully by the end of the year. DELICIOUS!

I know, dc has like nothing right? it's like who wants ethiopian food or something funky and weird when you could have brick oven?

Donna said...

Who knew DC had no food to eat at all?

I just love eating with my family in Utah, because they always want to go to the nicest places with THE most authentic food...like the Olive Garden...which is definitely more authentic than those little shops run by people who hardly speak english and give you stuff with NO breadsticks on the side...like do they even know what Italian food IS? And the mexican food here in Utah is SOOO much better than the mexican food in Mexico. Honestly, Rio should give them cooking classes. I had to eat fish the last time I went to Cabo...can you stand it! I mean who eats FISH in Mehico...so un-authentic! Glad you're back..see you at Rio and Chick-filet!

Be careful. When you only eat little bits at a time, people think that you had your stomach stapled. You ever know anyone with stomach stapling? They get rilly skinny, because they can't eat so much. So.. be careful so no one thinks that you were once a fatty and then had surgery.

To Sarah, the term Utah-ite isn't for rills -- you should call it Utard.

One way you can tell you're eating authentic Mexican food -- in Utard they use that greasy ground beef instead of that weird shredded beef machaca.

I can eat 2 WHOLE salads for just one meal. And I'm not preggo or anything. Suddenly I'm totally disgusted with myself. But, then again, Dr says I have to gain 10 lbs bc I'm actually under a healthy weight. So, I gotta do it somehow. Right?

Sarah said...

the shredded lettuce is key.

TAMN, u r totally grossing me out right now. How can u eat that much? No one stayes in the low el-bees by eating that much at a time. So much for u bing in the negative sizes. Im so disappointed. {frownsmile with a sigh}

So I just now discovered this "spoof" blog and HAHAHA! It makes me want to send it to the bratty wannabe "molly mormon" to point out to her how she really comes off to the world with her "spoiled rotten" brag-a-lot blog! She even left me nasty comments when I talked about the not so pretty reality of newlywed life on my blog! What a brat!

But anyway, personal tangent there, brilliant blog here! Keep up the good work!

I so hear you. I am in Hershey PA, nothing good to eat here either. When I go home to utah, my goal is to eat enough rio so I am sick of it by the time I leave so I won't miss it for a while...you think I'm kidding....

I lived in DC for 2 years and lost tons of weight while I was there so maybe you have something here...

but next time try 5 Guys.

Melissa Ash said...

Mmm, Five Guys and South of the Border are the best, both found in DC!! :) You just have to look a little harder there than you do in most places! :)
