goodie bags'll blow your MIND!!!!!

woe!

HAVEN'T SLEPT SINCE WENDSDAY! getting ready for the
twinses's 1rst birthday and my 1rst kids birthday party as a mom!! I literally love them!! to keep all the parties simple just hired people so we could just chillax, we chose the theme of "serious fun" and hired the proffesional facepainter and magician and clown and bubble master will be so fun, the blowup slide and castle and ballpit'll be here early so i can purel them, those Jones soda's with pics of the twins on the labels SO CUTE just got here, and just finishing up those sesame street-faced cakeballs dipped in chocolate, now just have to deal w/ the rest of the 1rst birthday photo shoots!

The formal one is this afternoon, cutest flowy promish dress and tux = serious cuteness, the semi-casual one went well this morning and yesterday's wimsical shoot went PERFECT, o
nly had to yell at the photog once and kick 4 other family's out of our spot and berate Glamma twice for forgetting my favorite lipstick, and Alivyiah, I mean, Princess Vintage to the creepers, had on four ginorm tutu's w/ no shirt and we put Tridg, I mean, Champ-riffic, in the most darling bow tie and cowboy boots!

HAPPY ALMOST BIRTHDAY SNUGGLEBUTTONSES!

The little girl almost-naked tutu shots make me groan on the inside. Almost as much as headbands with flowers that are ten times bigger than the baby's face.

Just goes to show that babies are cute, regardless of what we do to them...

How fun to know your photos won't look like anyone elstes. Specially after the photog puts about a bagillion actions on them to make your eyes neon blue and your skin pasty white and the trees all fuzzy and your jeans the color of your eyes and the beat up vintage wall behind you the color of your ginorm scarf and the color of your trendy super high heels really pop against the ankles of your skinny jeans (feet turned in please!) and your lips super colored to look like you might have been drinking blood (SO twilight!) and then fill in JJWT's thinning hair and make both your guyses teeth whiter. PLUS, the twinses will look super cute in the foreground with you guys kissing and faded in the background... then... reverse it! So crazy orignal fun! Can't wait to see all 130 pics when you post the link to the photogs blog, then again on your blog, then again on Facebook. Seriously. Can't. Wait.

Rubbing hand sanitizer on large balloon playhouses and waterslides? Genius! But, the cost of renting those things is way over my budget. Maybe I can just have a party with hand sanitizer.

It's so sad because I've actually seen birthday parties like this. Wowww

I love how you are keeping it simple :)

"I literally love them!!"

Not figuratively, then. Awesome.

Wow! If you only berated Glamma twice, that IS a perfect photo shoot.

DEAD. ON.

I think I like THIS misuse of "literally" more than the "I was literally hit by lightning" bc it's just so awesome and common. "I literally love them." Bravo.

you're hilarious.

What, no pony rides or media coverage? If you had a news helicopter buzzing overhead you could flag them down to give the twinners a ride, but that would probubbly just mess up your perfectly coiffed hair and ruin a photo shoot, so never mind.

You didn't get Kirby Heyborne to perform? I'm so disappointed.

Sorry to sound critikal, but it sounds to me like your party is going to be SO lame. I mean, that what every one is doing. Where's the creativity? Seriously, I just know if you put a little more thought in it you could do something more memrable. But I don't want you to feel sad ;) You've done the best you can on a budget. Good job!!

LOL....my sister had a party JUST like yours for her kid a few weeks ago. Right down to the face painting and cake balls in chocolate.

Erin B. is right. It's great that you're keeping it simple. It would be a shame if those sweet, innocent kids grew up expecting extravagant parties and tons of presents. You're all about the humble.

I just love the homegrown feeling of a simple birthday. I hope the newspaper will be invited to capture the feel. It sounds seriously sweet.

I vote for Sunny's comment. Dead on.

so delish! I hope you covered vintage princess's nips with cupcake shaped glitter stickers or something... hate to draw attention to them for the creepers

Way to "SIMPLIFY" (in cute vintage/super cute vinyl).

I see some well dressed twin vintage pyschopaths somewhere in your future.

Sounds like you are totally outdoing Lynzii's party for her triplets.

TAMN, TAMN, TAMN, you do NOT use "goodie bag" in a post and not hvae it be a gIvEaWAy. Just sayin'.

just give each of the kids a bottle of purel and let them rub it all over the other kids, it will just save so much time. PS, I'm with Charly.

Sunny, can I hire you to take photos? You *totally* sound like you know what you're doing.

Ha ha, not even millionaires have parties for their kids like this. I like how you pointed out that there are times that parents get all crazy and put on a big show. Make sure you also request that no one bring presents. You don't want to get a closet full of toys, that you will have to take back to target for grocery money.

Dude... You are my new hero. Read the blog. Read the news article. So glad we have you to help us laugh at ourselves!

;-) Good luck with the par-tay!

I'm sick of cake balls! Nuff with the cake balls, people.

Between your post and Sunny's comments, you just explained the birthday parties/family photo's of almost everyone in my ward. Man, we Mormons are sure into being original, aren't we?

what's a cakeball? sorry i'm not blessed enough to know:(

I love that it took me awhile to figure out if you were for real or not. My husband has this same kind of sense of humor and he is, of course, the most awesome husband ever - probably much better than yours. What is life for if not to laugh? Thanks for the laughs!

I'm totally frownsmiling here at the simplified party. Don't you literally love your little snugglepuffs?

And what is up with all those child activities? Sorry to judge but TACKY! Everyone knows the proper party for a 1 year old should be indistinguishable from the wedding reception next door.

Your children are angels, they can handle it. They wouldn't start screaming purple in the middle of their own birthday party and hate you for throwing it. Honest. They love those adult first birthday parties.

Sorry to call you out on your own blog, but I'm sure my rampant criticism does the whole blogosphere a world of good.

once again, you've found the perfect balance between showing UR fam (and the world) how fabtastic you are... and that you luv them.

keeping it simple so you can remain humble/judgemental

i bet studio 5 would love to do a segment on this and how to throw a totally amazing SIMPLE but fabulous birthday party. but more importantly showcase how you are creating such wonderful MEMORIES for your twinsaroos. i mean when your kids look back at the harcover leatherbound 48 page digi scrapbook of this day (which only really has 7 photos but a TON of super cute embellishments) they will totally have AMAZING memories.

oh and maybe studio 5 can get you a hookup for....DAVID ARCHULETA to come and sing happy birthday. seriously. how. cool. would. that. be! :-) :-)
