burden baring

HI EVERYBODY! SORRY I HAVEN'T BLOGGED IN FOREVERS!

My stud of a hubby about gave me a heart attack, put on a colored shirt yesterday! As in, FOR CHURCH! LOL! Faked me out so good! Then I noticed Lynzii was looking all pudgatron, which was such a tender mercy bc it reminded me that no matter what, I still am better than others so super greatful about that. {No offense}. PLUS I put Tridg and Alivyiah in darling outfits that matched JJWT's and I's outfits too, plus my shoes and mascara really made it pop. So basically a perfect Sunday.

The only downer was the trail I faced, when a girl I won't name but who's little girl is darling and adorbs and is one of Alivyiah and Tridger's besties, it honestly tears my heart out but I have to friend-breakup w/ them. Sad but true. I overheard her say something very, very vulgar and shocking. At our house we exclusively only say "bum" and never "butt" which is what I heard her say. Out loud. So, so sad. I'll just have to tell her sorry, our kids can't hang out anymore thanx to your poor choice, hate to judge but these really are the last days so I gotta pick a side you know?

YES! First validation....
and it's okay. breathe.
They will just have to understand... "b*tt" is just NOT okay. Maybe they will change their ways.

It's really hard, but sometimes you just have to make sacrifices to protect the twinners' precious little ears. AND because it was at church, you show how much you love service and kindly lead her to the bishop's office so she can repent.

Kathryn Sabria said...

Isnt it such a trail to see you're besties let go of the iern rod? It's like they're totally taking for granit that their in Zion. Way to go for the friend-breakup decision. You should rite to the ensign about it.

Your such a great example TAMN!!! I want to be as strong of a mother as you are and always keep your kids best interest in perspective! I deff-in-nut-ly would not want {whispering} B-U-T-T in my home let alone in front of my children ears. GAAAAASP!!! I mean imagine what she says behind closed doors... Bless her heart! She does know how her choices are affecting others! Good job for taking care of your family first! I hope she can learn from your example!

TAMN are you sure you live in Zion, cuz I swear you reside in my zip code?!

K well I for won think your making the right deciscion about the twinners and there friend. Nowone should say butt because it also means the end of a cigarete and you always want to avoid the apearents of evil. Props 2 u, sistaluv!

You must be VERY busy because your blog header thing is still summer-themed!!!

Emily said...

You totes made the rite choice. Real friends say "bum."

debbie said...

I just hate it when people say "butt". It's as bad as saying "suck". We never ever even think those two words at our house. You should break-up with them right away and then play the Primary song cd's over and over again to get those bad words out of your little sweeties' heads. (TiVo can help keep the rest of the bad words away intill after the little ones' bedtimes.)

Any man that wears colored shirts to church is not gunning to be a General Authority. And their wives should know better than to let them do such a heathen thing!

Jill said...

Maybe Lynzii is preggers too....

Good job TAMN! You don't want potty mouthed kids like that bringing down your sweet bundles! Shocking that they would say that!

So happy you had the best Sunday!

PICK A SIDE. Literally, every post I read I think, "okay, this is the best one." and then you outdo yourself.

Jeppson Clan said...

What a trickster that JJWT! Glad you had a perfect Sunday.
I'm on your side TAMN. We say "bum" at our house too, maybe that's why when the word B--- comes out of the mouth of babes my sensitive ears bleed in pain. (It doesn't bother me when adults say it though.)

Misty said...

ha ha ha! Love it! When it's the last days and all, you absolutely can't walk the fence anymore. It's either this side or that. You're a good example of standing up for what you believe in. People just don't understand sometimes that righteous judgement is way more important that loving one another. Love you TAMN!

Shari said...

And it's so crystal clear which side you're picking....the GRAY area side. :)

Way not to be a fence sitter TAMN.

Aha! Love the pudgatron comment. Your new vocab is awesome. Will you publish a sidebar dictionary someday?

Did JJWT say "JUST KIDDING" before or after you threw a tantrum and started ripping vinyl lettering off the walls?

Kathryn said...

Do I understand you correctly in that you are proud of yourself because another Sister in your ward is heavier than you? It makes me sick read this post. I thought you would be one of those cute, up-lifting blogs. Do you even realize that there are women out there with problems. Instead of judging them and being self-righteous, a little Christ-like love would go a long way. I know you are not going to approve this comment but I hope that it at least gives you something to think about. I'll be unsubscribing to your blog. I know you won't care because you didn't even know that I was here. I just hope that you can set a better example as a member of the Church.

I find it amusing that you think "BUTT" is a bad word when the word "ASS" is published in our Scriptures. You know, the ones approved by all the modern Prophets....

Savitrii said...

TAMN, I've been reading your blog since JULY 2008 (no lie), and it makes me feel smug and superior to know that some of these darlings have only been around for a few months. Way sad. LOVE YOU ALL!

bkbills said...

Bwahahahahahahaha! Love it!

Anna said...

Pudgatron? HA! I'll have to remember that one.

And I am so so glad you are totes living the religion and following the Savor's example. I know somewhere in the scriptures He had to unfriend a disciple or someone because they weren't as righteous as He was. Friend-breakups are so WWJD.

TAMN, how do the kids behave in church? Do they go to nursery and STAY in nursery?

sharpandkeen said...

I can't believe you even say bum.. that's bordering on vulgar. in our house, we say "behind" or derrierre (because french is so refined!) I mean, not to judge or anything, but maybe you should look at your own beam in your eye.

Mellifera said...

I totally agree, anything you say in French is way classier! Try this, when your little ones need a diaper change, instead of announcing it to the world all vulgar like "You smell poopy!" expand their little horizons with "Oh la la, tu pues comme un petit bouchon fecal!" So classy!

We don't have to worry about all this sad play-date stuff 'cause we're both in school full-time plus working so our little darling is in day care (super bad I know, but don't worry, it's day care in a church so totally not worldly) but one of our friends just had a regular playdate friend "break up" with them because their kid was a "bad influence" on the other kid.

The funny part is, my husband and I watch both of them in nursery, and the break-uppers' kid is WAY worse than the break-uppees' kid. So hilarious.

Maren said...

Oh no! Kathryn doesn't get it! Don't these people look at the sidebars? :)
We had a neighbor get offended once because my mom said "butt". I'm pretty sure my family became the heathens on the street that day....all because Mom had no self control. Seriously. So. Sad.

Uh-oh TAMN, another person who thinks you're real.

BreAnn said...

Already a month and a half preggo and STILL skinnier than Lynzii, how embarrassing for her! Maybe you could stage an intervention for this poor lady and make her aware of her poor parenting skills, it would also make you look so caring about other people.

Morgan said...

I love when someone judges TAMN for being judgmental.

Heather said...

Hmmm. I totally would have thought JJWT would be a color shirt wearing kind of guy. Guess I got that wrong.

And if there's one word that I detest it's "bum". Can't stand it. Never heard it even once until I went to UT for school.

I don't know what I love more, TAMN... your posts, or the people that get upset by them. Bless your sweet heart, and your adorable figger.

I'm confused. Since when is having a testimony of being elect, special and entitled to blessings judging? Seriously, I'd hate to see what other inspired things people will stop following at the click of a button.

TAMN, the more I see your haters, the more I realize you are Emmaing it pretty hard. Stay strong and sparkly!

SAHM: Surviving Assorted Home Mayhem said...

Oh, I just love that you hit on the "colored shirts" and "last days" drama. HILARIOUS! Also, we only say bum as well, but simply because it's cuter.

Steph said...

I just can't stand those kids in church who are totally misbehaving and saying these horrible things... it makes me so sad, but so happy when I think about how perfect my kids are in comparison. I totally get you TAMN. Let's work together to keep the unrighteous out of our children's lives!

MaryBeth said...

Don't judge Kathryn...maybe she gained weight during a pregnancy :(

Kiki said...

awwww, poor kathryn, i had the same reaction to the 'modest bikini' until my friend told me LOL!

Mary said...

Not to get all judgy or anything, but my mom wouldn't even let us say "bum". It was "bottom" or nothing.

Also, she wouldn't let us wear zippers in the front of our pants because only boys need that, and she viewed it as a form of cross-dressing.

Wish I was making that up. Ha!

kortni seegmiller said...

Wait is Kathryn being satirical or is she really offended? Are all the commenters serious? I'm so confused. Now I understand those people a long time ago who thought that guy really wanted to eat children. To think I judged them...

Use your instinks when it comes to razing you're kids. I'm shore you all ways choose the right b/c your a Mother of zion. You have been given a stewart's ship over them kids and only you know what is best for them. Like if you want to higher a oh pair to go the the nursery with them every week cuz you and loverboy have way super important callings and she can make shore there snacks is organic and she can teach them Popcorn pooping in french. Plus she can keep tabs on the frumps in the nursery and make sure they don't influence them too much, ever notice NONE of them where cute close that are dry clean only. Just basic and boring cotton. Baby's are so impressed and you don't want them thinking frump is the riotous way. Plus I heard some nursery liters drink Coke, accept NOT diet.

Sweet Em said...

So glad that you are keeping your kick-A standards up.

Mom D said...

Hi Kathryn, Welcome, you will enjoy this blog, now that you know it isn't real. However, it is fiction based on fact. I read public blogs all the time that are dead serious about the things TAMN spoofs. It's sad how rampant the lack of humility is on some LDS blogs. I saw one the other day where a "hot" LDS mom had pictures of her Temple wedding, along with cruise pictures. There wasn't one single picture of her dressed appropriately for an endowed member. On the beach she wore bikinis, on board she wore tube tops and on land, micro-mini sundresses, thus TAMN comments about "modest bikini's. I'd recommend you go back to the beginning of this blog. There are some hilarious posts, one of my favorite quotes is "keep your voice as high as your standards." If you haven't done so, find some non private blogs to view. There are plenty of great ones, and plenty of unrealistic brag blogs. I even heard a GA counseling people to "keep it real" on blogs so others don't feel bad their own life isn't as perfect or amazing as someone else's. Enjoy!!!

Our Family said...

I guess to each there own, but we don't even say bum, it is too close to that other word.
We are commanded to avoid even the apperrences of evil you know? We always say caboose- it's much cuter too. You may be better than others, and hang on to that cutie!! Because I am still more righchous than you :o) {hugs}

kymthemom said...

Maybe after you tell her that the kids can't hang out anymore because of her poor choice, you can put on some more of those PG13 movies that you are having the kids filter for you and JJWT. That will help to get the word "butt" out of their innocent little minds. :)

Kerstin said...

Mellifera, don't you know that it's NEVER the own kids who are bad. It's always their friends who have a bad influence?!

Mary, so you could only wear track pants?

christine said...

I dunno. Colored shirts are waaay better than boring white all the time. Fur reels! I mean then you can show all the other wives what awesome fashion sense you have and how your hubs totally wears whatevs you tell him too.

Kamity said...

I'm in a lot of trouble because I think I said "crap" during a lesson in church once. It helps the local TAMNs know not to touch me with a 10-foot pole!

Oh, the things we do to make sure we never get called into the Bishopric!!

Little Lovables said...

poor, poor souls. 'butt' is so not okay, but in utah 'piss' is totally acceptable for some reason.. and apparantly according to kathyrn, so is ASS.. which is a waaay cooler word than butt anyday.

Danielle said...

Personally, I like it when people say "Bumb" even better. We call it "boo-tox" at our house. It's kindof a code word...across between buttocks and botox. You know, to throw people off. Besides, I want my kids to learn the proper names for their body parts. That is what good parents do- Or so I hear. I guess maybe gluteus maximus would be even better! (is that even how you spell it?) I'm glad that you are setting such a good example. Thanks for encouraging us all to be more righteous. By the way, I am going to be D.I-ing all of my hubbybumbs colored shirts. Thanks for the idea.
Oh, and what do you think is more righteous...garage sales, D.I. or KSL.Com?

Joel said...

I think I got my mouth washed out with soap by my mother for using the "butt-word." (And I didn't even grow up in Utah!) Of course, it didn't make sense because she used actual swear words from time to time. As kymthmom said, I'm sure those movies you have the kids watch for you with their incapable-of-sin-minds help them forget such filthy language.
Crap was okay in our household, as were most euphemisms, but not butt for some reason. Instead of bum, how about "arse?" I think that's my personal favorite substitution.
Oh, and I wear colored shirts to church from time to time. Is it because of my confusion about which things are appropriate (like language) has spilled over into the wardrobe area? I'm sure someone who champions modest bikinis and "garment-optional" holidays can clear this up for me.

Penny said...

I love this blog!

Emily said...

I distinctly remember my mother rebuking me as a kid for saying BOTH "butt" and "bum." She made it very clear that the correct word to use was "BOTTOM." And to this day, both of my parents think men wearing colored shirts is "liberal" (a bad thing, in their books).

Emily said...

Oh, and let me add that my parents also think "crap," "fart," and even "booger" are extremely offensive and essentially akin to swear words.
