TeeVee

Holy cow you guys!!! Seems like being preggo is making me super deep, this fetus is probably oober smart or something! Because out of nowhere, I'll be all pondering normal stuff like how bc all these modest clothing co's are going out of business these obviously ARE the last days, and then all the sudden I find wierdo thoughts flying around in my head like swimmers, and next thing you know I'm scooping them up with idea buckets! Can't help it! Being preggo = sooooo bazaar.

So here is the latest one, I never thought I'd say this but I am honestly thinking about getting rid of one of our tv's. I'll still watch everything on our three OTHER tv's and/or online, but that way when certain girls chat about shows I don't like at playgroup I'll smirk sweetly and just say "I got rid of my tv ages ago" and outrank them in righteousness. Genious right?

You must be SO DEEP, because I think I had to read this three times before I could figure out what you were saying.

PS. I'm going to kill Justin Bieber because of your blog. I want to stab my ears out every time I open your blog page. You are amazing, TAMN. I love you. I'm really looking forward to your next playlist. Stay over the top!

O-M-Goodness! I love this. My SIL totally stopped letting her kids watch TV during the week and I was all, "Why?" and she was all "so our fam can be more righteous." And I was all, "maybe I should just get rid of our TV." And she was all, "no, I still watch it when they are at school."

I wish I had your strength. Then I could hold things like this over everyone else at church, too.

We got rid of cable YEARS ago, and just watch all the bad shows we want online instead. Even when the plot is like that mormon ad with the ice cream and gross bugs, we have less gross bugs because we avoid those scandalusty commercials. (Lurve LuRvE LURVE HIMYM and Madmen)! Our outgoing bills more modest too!

I'm TOTALLY thinking of buying a new big one, then I can give away my old one and use this idea! Thanks TAMN!!

I outrank you TAMN. We don't even own a TV, so nothing to get rid of in the first place. HAH!

Problem: When the kids come over for joy school it will be apparent that you still have your bathroom and kitchen TVs. And then how will you brag about all the BYU tv you watch?

Brilliant! It is like that don't "have cable" meaning they have cable coming into their home they just don't pay for it.

Sheesh TAMNers, I got rid of my tv ages ago! I just watch all my favorite shows on my iPhone. I must be more righteous because I watch it on a smaller screen! :)

I think that is a terrible idea. Sorry, but you can't throw out the good with the bad or there would be no nuzzling, no twinners, and no deep thoughts about infertilities.

I mean, if you say, "I got rid of our TV" they'll just tell you about all the educational shows they watched and frownsmile at your ignorance. How will you know about God's great earth if you don't watch Discovery? Trust me, there are too many bugs if you actually GO to Alaska. In the same vein, how can you know about history if you don't watch the History Channel? How will you keep up on politics if you don't watch The View? How will you know about literature or science if you don't watch Oprah?

And you really can't HELP bad TV, because you only watch it when you HAVE to becase nothing else is on.

There are 2 problems with you're plan.

1. How eltse will you brag about all the bo peep bucks you donate to PBS so there kids can watch shows and be all most as smart as you're kids.

B. How eltse will you brag about how spirtual and riotous you are b/c you have BYU tv on all day. Its in the background when you excercise, bake bread and clean your immaculate house. You only turn it off to pray, read your scriptures and watch the Bachelor or DWTS.

Its amazing the twins can already sing the the words and melody to the Mo Tab theme song The Morning has Broken, the Shadows have Fleas.

You need to rethink your plan.

Uh... and when people talk about the Bachelorette? And DWTS? And SYTYCD?! How will you explain your opinions on those shows if you're saying you don't have TV? (And have you really seen the term "idea buckets" on someone's blog? ha! ha! ha!)

I have to agree with Frau-- you can't miss out educating yr kids via tv!! Especially all those cool learn-to-read programs/dvd's that require the tv reading to the twinners, not YOU.

P.S. Kami-- I didn't realize the first song was Justin B. I thought it was a girl singing... eww.

Brilliant is a better word. You keep coming up with those ah-ha moments and pass them along. Now I am eyeballing the mini TV we won at a company dinner years ago. Keep it? Let it go? I mean, it's not on cable so it's worthless. Even so, it's a TV, so I can say we have 5. Do I want to lose that status?

@ Kami, you cud "do as I'm doing, follow, follow me" and hit the mute on your PC before you click on TAMNers's' blog. If I've got Bieber Fever, I hope someone can eradakate it from the world.

These are the last days because modest clothing companies are going under? TOTALLY normal pondering, that. Ditto with ideas flying like they are swimming.

this is way awesome. we only own one huge tv and no cable, but lots o netflix and clean flicks movies, so we are pretty righteous too!! high-five on our awesomeness!

OMG YES! And then you can look the ladies in the eye that you visit teach and scoff and say oh my kids...no no no TV...we don't have ANY SERVICE.

When you know full well they watch 3 movies a day.

Not that that happened to me this week or anything....
