I remember this one time a few days ago my friend told me about your blog and I've been laughing ever since!

I remember how nice you were to me in Young Womens. You used that fake, sugary voice and always asked me to sit by you and your popular friends. At school you usually ignored me and I caught you looking away real fast when you saw me looking at you.

I'm inactive now thanks to you and your crappy friends.

Thanks

JJWT only loves you if he bought you the 16 GB version.
I first met you at your wedding reception. It was weird, I knew you had been sealed in the temple but looking at your strapless dress I couldn't figure out how you could wear garments in that thing.

I remember when I saw you at the Gateway a while ago and you screamed "OH MY HECK, I HAVEN'T SEEN YOU FOR SOOOOOOOOO LONG!!!!!!." When I had just seen you 3 days before.

Oh no you di-unt! First privates, now how popular you were in High School? OK-
There are so many memories how can I chose just one?
I remember that you had like SO many friends, and I totally wanted to BE YOU! I mean every boy was totally in love with you. You were so skinny and pretty. I almost couldn't be your friend...but then I found out you were so nice too! We made fun of everyone together!
I laugh SO hard when I think about that. And remember that song? It's so easy to remember so many things cuz we've stayed BFF's!!! Love ya girl!

I remember that one time when we were at girls camp and you wrote me the nicest note- about your talents and skinniness and good looks, and of coarse amazing spirituallity and why I was lucky to share a cabin with you. I still remember how I thought to myself how BLESSED I was to have you in our cabin because that automatically made me cooler and more popular. I still have that letter, thanx TAMN!

My earliest memory of you was from the MANY times you were asked to speak in church! You always gave the BEST talks ever!!! You would speak every month and I was never asked. You inspired me every single time!!!! How did you do that? You were so much more spirichul than I was, so I tots understand why I was never asked. Now, I kind of take ideas for the talks I have to give in church from YOUR talks back then! I hope you don't mind!!!

I remember in high school how we used to hang out at your house and watch movies all the time. Then we would crank call the chubby and unpopular girls in the school directory. We had so much fun! We were practically inseperable! And then when I saw you at your wedding you pretended you didn't know me, just because I had put on a few pounds.

I still love you though.

So many memories . . . how do I choose just one? Instead, I wrote a poem,

Oh, darling Tamn,
I find I'm all agog
to know the truth about
your blessed blog
seriously so blessed
for you I have this one request
are you a dude
or do you wear a dress?

Or are you just a simple SAHM,
you know the kind, exactly like I am?
Or do you find your weight is high,
you're bitter, too,
please tell me you are Tamn,
oh tell me, tell me, do.

I'd like to think that
there's a gal out there like you,
who says not yeck or bleck
but simply "ew!"
You make me want to be
just like you, ever so!
Instead I sit and sigh
and pick my toes.

Oh, how do I put this in
Laman's terms for you?
Where is my stallion like
your JJTW?
Please don't go private or you'd
be so very missed,
because of you
I'm seriously--
so blessed!

What amazed me most about you and has always stuck with me was that time in our freshman english class when the prof asked you not to answer your phone in class again and you were furious. I'd never seen a real, bottom-lip-out-so-far-a-bird-could-land-on-it pout until that day. Love you!

I LOVE being tAgGed!
I remember when we were in the same student ward and you got up in Fast & Testimony Meeting EVERY MONTH and told everyone how your roommates were SWEETHEARTS, which in turn, made them get up and tell the ward the ways that YOU were a SWEETHEART. What a clever way to get people to say such sweet things about you in front of all the cute boys at church!!! (AND, what a clever way of taking up all the time so we wouldn't have to hear the same boaring stuff about the importance of profits and stuff.)

I remember being SOOOO excited when I realized you were going to be my Mia Maid teacher. I mean, first you were my counselor at girls camp, and then Mia Maid adviser on top of that? How did I get so lucky? Anyway, I love going to church every week cuase we don't hafta listen to a boring lesson. Instead we sit around and listen to you tell us the story of how you got engaged, or how you knew that JJWT was "THE ONE" or how far you can *GO* with your fiance and still get married in the temple. So basically every week is my favorite memory with you. And we get to make another one this week!!

Let's see TAMN, where do I even begin? I think we should start with that time when our AMAZING moms took pitures when they were pregers with us, BFFs from the womb!! Then there is my first memory, I swear, of us sitting with our Dad's at temple square when your Uncle married my Aunt, SO SERIOUSLY BLESSED WE BECAME FAMILY! And then there are all of those nights at young women's where we led the way for all of those super sweet little ones looking up to us! Girls Camp ~ NO WORDS NEEDED!! Sure, we had those rough few months when I decided I was going to see Titanic and you didn't approve ... but we made it through (have I ever told you how much I really did look up to you for standing up for righteousness even when I was your best friend and didn't talk to you for weeks?). Then ~ MY FAVORITE ~ was your wedding. I know, I know, the day was all about you and JJWT but I just LOVE seeing you SO happy and SO in love. Luv yer guts girl!

I remember when we were dating 3 months before JJWT came home from his mission and began talking about marriage. We knew it was going to be awkward, 'cause JJWT is my best friend, but you said I was the one.

You were so disappointed when the ring I offered you was only a 2-carat diamond, and wasn't the band you'd designed in junior high (and it was only white gold - not platinum!). And you refused to take off the promise ring JJWT had given you and wear my piddly engagement ring.

Does that count as one of the times you were engaged while JJWT was on his mission, or do you not count it 'cause you never put the ring on?

I miss you.

After years of being home schooled in Africa I finally moved back to the states and went to high school with you. First I made friends with the weird kids, then you saved me from them and let me join your popular clique. At first I was just hanging out with you so I could go back to my other friends and tell them what an idiot you are but I became so obsessed with you and wanted you to like me so much that I started becoming like you. I was the one who made your friends not like you, I got your boyfriend to break up with you and I was the one feeding you protien bars so you'd gain weight. You somehow figured all this out so you made copies of the burn book and plastered them all over the school. I took the blame for you because I was becoming nice again. You got hit by a bus but still managed to make it to prom, I won prom queen but broke the crown and gave you a piece of it. Then you joined a bunch of sports teams and I hooked up with your old boyfriend. we were such mean girls.

I'll never forget that one time when you moved into our BYU married ward right after your honeymoon, & it was Fast Sunday. You are SO spirichal you could tell that you were going to get up & bare your testimony, so you brought a stereo with you & played that one Janice Kapp Perry song from the pulpit. What an amazing testimony!

We decorated our dorm sooo cutely, seriously, every single square inch of wall was covered up with crepe paper and MormonAds and stuff..."be your own kind of beautiful" awwww! Love it! The talent show was so great and all the girls were soooo jealous when you sang "Cowboy Take Me Away" bc you have such an amazing voice! You helped me tease my hair EVERY SINGLE MORNING, so I was totally happy to skip classes to keep guard so you and that one guy could make out!!! SUCH FUN MEMORIES!!! Loves!

I remember in high school when you are your friends shunned me because I wore clothes from Hollister, and not from Abercrombie. But I was super excited and OK with it, because that meant that you knew I existed, and that was all that mattered.

I remember when we were in young women together and during mutual we snuck away into the church kitchen and ate a bunch of the ice cream that was there for the Relief Society dinner the next night. When we realized it was for the RS dinner we panicked and decided to throw the rest out into the dumpster so people would just think whoever was supposed to bring it forgot to. Afterwards we both felt bad about it and you said we needed to talk to the bishop about it to repent. So that Sunday I went and told him what we'd done. But when he went to talk to you about it you lied and said you had gotten sick and went home from mutual that night, and everyone believed you over me and I got blamed for the whole thing. And it got spread around school and I never got asked out on a date the rest of high school.

Good times.

*MARY* said...

oh ya and just last sunday during my fave part of relief society, the good news minute, you got up and set an easy bake oven on the doily covered table. Then without saying a word you put a roll in the oven and then pointed to your way skinny but totally bless-ed belly. You just stood there grinning and pointing and everybody thought you were possessed or somethin then you took the roll out of the oven, put it back in, closed the oven door and pointed again to your belly. We were all like what the heck? If she's so hungry why doesn't she just eat the roll. The Jess totally jumped up and screamed AH!! YOU'RE PREGGERS!!! Then everyone was shrieking and hugging and the spirit was so strong, bosoms were burning. Then all the young men came in carrying an easy bake oven for everybody with a bun inside and an invite to your baby shower. It was awesome.

Adam and Kristina said...

Oh, and I'm pretty sure this tag says that if we leave a comment, you assume that we're playing the game and you'll leave a comment about us. But don't worry, you are way too busy being pregnant and your 4 hour work day, and you're way more righteous than us, so I won't hold you to it.

I remember when you and I drove through Day Break and you told me that it was the true Zion and the only place to live if you are a true Mormon. Then you bore your testimony and told me that you hoped that your amazing knowledge of the gospel didn't shake my testimony because you could have shared stuff I didn't know about.

Heather said...

My favorite memories of you are that one summer when your dad rented that house for you out here in Orange County so you could have a real "California" tan. You had pool parties every week so that we could all see how perfect your body is even without clothes. And it was so funny how you would bump that music and "pretend" to freak on all the guys, because of course you wouldn't really dance like that. And it was so cool how you dated all the guys and totally let them get to first base and stuff, but then left them all to go back to Utah because JJWT was coming home from his mission. They still write romantic stuff on your Facebook wall...weird.

Lisa said...

Remember at BYU when we were BFF 24/7? Yeah, in the dorms it was such fun and remember how we all signed leases in the same house, so we could live together our Sophmore year? Remember when we showed up in the Fall and you and one of our other rommies decided I was nicer than you and so you made me live with the weird girl from your hometown? Yeah, you lied to make me nicer. You changed my lease and so you and J. could live in the room with your own bathroom and made me share a room with R. who drew pictures of Elves and got dressed in the closet. You were right, I grew so much and it was Awesome & Amazing.

You knew I needed to grow by illegally changing my lease. I love that about you.

My favoritte memory of you is when I asked you what I should do with my hair (this was when you were in hair school) and you told me to cut with diferent choppy lengths and color it with dark low lights underneath continuing on the specktrum of lights all the way to peroxxide blonde highlights on top. Then style it like a scarecrow-- with it sticking out all over the place. An I was like, "TAMN, R U shore that this will look good?" And you assured me that this was the "in" style and all the girls were doing 'there' hair like this. You were right.

Then, I asked you to help me shop for a new dress to wear to church. An we went to the mall, Gateway, of coarse and you helped me pick out a denim skirt and a tight hollister t-shirt with a gray hoodie and some flip flops, white of coarse (for church). I was so exscited, but then I saw the slit on the skirt which went up to . . . and you said, "Don't worry about the slit. No one is going to be looking at it. They're all gonna be looking at you're hair! And you're YW medallion and you're one pair of ear rings.

And you were right. Thanks TAMN! you're so stylish.

I have two fav GNO memories, so I am going to share them both!

1 - Our "mocktail" parties where we would get all dressed up to watch Friends/Sex and the City/Grey's Anatomy and drink fancy non-alcoholic beverages out of wine glasses. Yay for Sprite based Cosmos!

2 - When we used to drive up to SLC to go to go clubbing in our super cute and totally modest outfits. Do you remember all those LAME and DIRTY boys who wanted to get freaky with us, just because we were all so super hot?! Whatevs! I mean sure we would dance a little freaky with them, but thats only because I love JT's music! We didn't TRY to get them to be all IN LOVE with us. It's not like we could help how hot we all were! We just all loved to dance!

So fun! GNOs are the best!

I remember that one time when you were my visiting teacher and you gave me a really cute pair of shoes. They hurt my feet real bad and some guy told me that they were last season Pradas, but I feel seriously, so blessed that I have an amazing VTer who would even think of me.

Keith said...

I think my fave mem was that one time when I asked you to prom like two months before the actual dance, by having you dig through jell-o to get marshmallows that had a secret message of me asking you to prom. But, since you (looking back, this should have been so obv) wouldn't actually put your hands in the jell-o, you never actually knew that it was me who had asked you to prom, so I had my friend just tell you it was me, but then you totally pretended not to hear him, and then that one cool guy asked you to the dance the day before, so you had your friend tell me you were so sorry you couldn't go with me, but that some other guy had asked you just before I did. I was so appreciative that you would have gone with me if you hadn't totally lied about that other guy asking you first. I knew that in your heart you would have gone with me if you hadn't lied about that other guy.

Remember that time freshman year when our roommie's boyfriend left on his mish and it was just like, SOOOO tragic, and she was like, crushed, and we had to have a girls night every single night so that she wouldn't like, cry herself to sleep thinking about him, and she would like, lock herself in her room and write tear stained letters to him every day and it was SOOO SAD! But so preschious. They were so dedicated to each other. She like only went on one date the entire time he was gone. But then her boyfriend broke out of the MTC and came home a week after he left and came straight to our dorm at five in the morning and proposed to her right on the spot and they got married a month later??? It was like, such a celestuial relationship (but not nearly as celestuial as you and JJWT).

I heart missionary drama!

I remember everyday while JJWT was on his Mish, you would cry as you put a temple sticker on the missionary countdown poster. I knew you two were EC not only because you prayed about it but you were so dedicated to him you would go to his parents house on mothers day and christmas to talk to him, then you would even pray harder for him. You were such a great example for me. you made me want to marry an RM even more. .. We need anohter GNO..
Oh p.s. did you know about the fast we are having for Yvette? It's this sunday..(she's becoming an old maid, and needs to meet her RM!)

I remember your parents got you a real, live pony! I had ALWAYS wanted a pony and I was soooo jealous, but in a totally righteous way, of course! I remember when I was visiting your ward a BYU, and when we were asked in Sunday School what we were grateful for, you said that you were grateful to go to the Lords school because you knew that your roommate assignment had been inspired by Him. I was sad that I wasn't so blessed and that I had to only bask in your blessedness. But it only made me want to work harder at manipulating my boyfriend into marrying me (I wanted so badly to have some attachment to the Lords School, even if that only meant being married to one of Its students!) I learn so much from you every time I read your blog!

It was SO SPIRICHUAL watching your 2 1/2 hour wedding video and listening to you and JJWT sing "My Endless Love" to each other. Hey! I met you at Target when you came in the day after your wedding to return all of your "non chic" wedding gifts. You looked *sooooo* cute in your tight pink t-shirt with "Mrs. JJWT for Eternity" bejeweled on it with rhinestones. If I remember correctly, you left with more than $2500 in cash for all your returns. You said that you got so many gifts on your special day that you had to be SUPER selective and kept only things from Nordstrom and Tiffanys. The rest you returned and you said you were going to use the money for laser hair removal -- since that would bring you and JJWT *way* more happiness than salt and pepper shakers and clocks. You go girl!!

I remember that time when we worked together at Lagoon. Everyone who worked there and even random guests said that you were the most incredibly beautiful woman in the entire world. They weren't kidding. There was always something amazing about you.

Most guys were too intimidated to ask you out. I knew you were way out of my league but I did anyway and we did so much fun stuff together. It was great. You were a wonderful friend and incredibly gorgeous. Unlike every other guy I didn't try to make any moves, I just treated you like the queen I knew you were.

And remember that time a couple years later in high school when I asked you to Viewmont's Prom, knowing that Davis' prom was a different Saturday so I knew you'd be available? I didn't even ask in the usual dorky ways, I just asked you face-to-face and you were so excited and said yes.

And remember how you told me later that you couldn't go because you had a track meet the same day, even though it was about 14 hours earlier than the dance and you'd have plenty of time to get ready afterward?

I remember how, on very short notice, I found another date who I'd met on a double date and she had commented that she wanted to date me. She wasn't nearly as attractive and I didn't know her very well, but she appreciated me and we had a lot of fun. Especially the part where I saw you at the dance with one of the "cool guys", and you pretended to not see me. It was SO MUCH fun. You taught me SO MUCH.

Oh, and remember that time when we saw each other at the Bountiful Temple when we were waiting for our turns on the stairs with our respective friends who were getting married? You still looked just as amazing as ever. And you told me you're divorced now? Sorry it didn't work out quite the way you'd hoped. Hard to believe you don't have impeccable judgement with guys...

Member when we drove your Dad's beamer to go shoppin at the Gateway? He totally wasn't going to let you. He was all "You're not on the insurance" and you were all "But Daddy, Mom's Hummer is too hard for me to park!" So he let you drive it and we had the convertible top down on the freeway but these weird guys were waving and yelling at us so we had to put the top up.

And then at the Gateway, some crazy chick rear-ended us while you were trying to park and you totally had to call your dad cause we didn't know if we should call mall security.

It was totally sad cause we didn't get to go shoppin, but then it was awesome cause the next week your dad bought you a sweet new ride. He was all "If you're going to wreck someone's car, at least it won't be mine."

I remember when we were at YW camp and you made me go to the latrine with you in the middle of the night because you get scared of noises. I remember you went in while I held your flashlight then you like screamed really loud and that scared me so I dropped your flashlight and ran back to our tent. I was glad when I woke up and you were snoring in your sleeping bag. I avoided you the rest of the week because I didn't want you to ask me again, but that was awesome because then I hung out with Michi and well, you know, we are like partners for life now. Your paranoia brought us together and that is so super sweet. I could kiss you. And I would like to even if it bugs JJWT. It's just a grrrl thing afterall.

Love you.

TAMN, I just think about how you're the greatest Visiting Teacher ever. Remember when we were 15 and I was a ballerina but you were a cheerleader which of course made you waaaay skinnier than me, and we couldn't date boys yet cause we were totally not old enough but your mom was like so much more in tune than mine and said that school dances SO did not count as dates--they were just fun things to go to with a guy while wearing a FABULOUS supertight dress! And then the day you went to get it taken in (cause you were SO skinny!) we were supposed to have YW but since you couldn't come the leaders decided there was no point to even trying to have a spiritual time so they canceled it. So hard! But you were such a good example to me and I always wanted to be like you even when you wouldn't let me be a bridesmaid at your wedding because I was prego and wouldn't fit in your dresses. Hey TAMN! The thing that I remember about you is when you moved into my ward, and I went over to your condo/townhouse/mini-mansion to meet you and bring you some cookies. You told me that you prayed about it and got an answer that you shouldn't be friends with me because I used to have a belly ring, and because my husband is from Canada and the Church discourages inter-racial marriages. I was way SAD! But then we became bff's because we were really good at making fun of all those homely Relief Society ladies. Remember that day when you totally went jogging in non-BYU-Honor-Code-approved spandex shorts and tank top around Provo, and those totally rude guys whistled at you as they drove by?

I totally felt for you when you told me about it later. Seriously, just because you're wearing work out clothes that Madonna might have worn in a music video doesn't give guys the right to treat you like a piece of meat, does it! I mean, they totally must've thought you went to UVSC, I mean, UVU, I mean, Bon Losee, and you have waaaay higher standards than those girls.

I know you do, because you totally repented to your bishop when you and JJWT "got in to trouble" that one time . . .

Remember how we always spend, like, an hour in the gym bathrooms making sure our ponytails are high enough and putting on ToNS of mascara, and then we spent so much time doing that that we totally don't even have time to work out anymore so we just walk around the gym a couple of times and then buy a smoothie. So FuNnY! PS are you going to Zumba 2nite?

OMG I remember at EFY when I started to talk to this one guy in our tribal group and you told EVERYBODY that it would be so cute if we fell in love. Then you told him that I wanted to go out with him and that I had told you that it was in my patriarchal blessing to marry a guy I met at EFY. I was so embarassed because he wasn't even that cute, and after that none of the cute guys would talk to me!

Remember the time when I read your blog and totally thought it was for real and then my mother-in-law informed me that it was fake and I felt dumb but played it off?

Wow, you are such a great VTer, look at all the comments from other VTees whose lives you've blessed! I remember when you were my visiting teacher at BYU and you came all by yourself because your companion was like whatever and you shared that awesome poem about Jesus- so spearchul! Then you told me about your awesomely blessed life and asked me if I wanted to know anything else about you. You only came one time, but it was so awesome I was good for the rest of the semester.

I can remember having so much fun our sophomore year of high school. It was totally a bummer when those hot guys asked us to prom, but our parents wouldn't let us go even though we told them it would be a "group date".

I'm so glad that we didn't date before we were sixteen, besides we had WAY more fun making out with them in your parent's basement!!

I remember when we were in seminary together and you would always share your scriptures with me because I would ALWAYS forget mine. And when you got that really bad perm, I didn't even care.

Remember when we were freshmen at UVSC and we would stay up every singly night and talk about how we didn't want to get married until we were like 25, and not have kids until we were 30. But then we'd always, always talk about what we wanted our wedding to look like, our perfect dress, ring, cake, husband, everything! Then we would all go to walmart and scope out the way hott babes there. Then everyday we would walk through the hall of fags, and totally pretend like we didn't notice all the hott guys whistling at us, or pointing at us, because we are just so hott, i mean it really isn't our fault you know? we just have way skinny butts that look really good in super super tight jeans. you know what i mean?? And all the fat nerdy girls were TOTALLY jealous of us.. because were just so pritty. its sad that they cant be as pretty as us, you know what i mean?? we just have better gene pools. and then we would go to cafe rio everday, and get a pork salad. Then go home and layout at parkway crossing. Where all the cool kids lived.. SO many fun times!! And we would bear our testimoneez every fast sunday, and cry and say things like "i had such a hard weeeeek!!" and reading my sciptures totally got me through it, and my roommates, there all just soooooooo awesome and I love them all to DEATH!! BFFS FOR LIFE! AND ETERNITY! And everyone wished they were us. REmember? O i do. O wait, I get a daily reminder each day when I wake up and walk out my door. Utah County=fakest place on the earth. Hi Friend!!
Remember me? We dated for a while before the mish, it's a good thing I could look past that darn freshman 15. My fave memory of us is when we got a little too into the levi lovin' in the back of my mom's minivan. It was soooo embarrassing talking to the bish, but I know it was the right thing to do. TTYL!

Remember when we were going to BYU and had a ballroom dance class together? And remember how one day I was practicing by myself for class and you and your oh-so-incredible-perfect-dancer friends on the ballroom dance team were practicing in the same room? You were the sweetest thing to gang up on me with your friends and tell me everything I was doing wrong just to show your friends what an amazing dancer you were! And you weren't even a teacher! Your knowledge of the samba was THAT AMAZING.

And then you wouldn't know this, but a few months later I was cleaning that very same room for my custodial job after the worst semester ever because my family was having huge problems, I was struggling with being single, and I had 8 am class every day with work until 2 am!!! I was SERIOUSLY SO BLESSED again because as I was sweeping the floors, I saw YOUR blessed adorable wedding invitation with AngelTwinkie JJTW smiling out at me from the ballroom dance team's bulletin board!!! I dropped the broom right there and jumped and shouted for joy, I was SO ecstatic!!!!

I wanted to wait on this memeory so hopefully JJWT doesn't find out and cause some serious drama in your pefect little life.

Remember the time that I convinced you to go on a date with me while you were still dating JJWT, and while at lagoon things got a little magical and we made out, horizontal with tongue and everything. You made me "pinky swear" that I would never tell anybody because you were totally going to repent for it later and didn't want JJWT to find out... that was fun.

Miss you.

My best memory of you was at EFY when I told you I was from Ogden and you said that even though that's as bad as living in Sodom and Gamorah, you would still be my friend. Remember how all week you kept asking me what it was like to live in the ghetto and how many times I've been drive-byed? And at the end of the week during testimony meeting you talked about how it was so neat to meet me, your first ethnic friend, even though I'm of Danish and Irish heritage. Loves you TAMN!
