bLeSsInG uPdAtE ~ fiNaLLy!

I am soooo embarassed! Not only is it Friday and I'm just now writting about my babies's blessing on Sunday so I'm five days behind in my blog journal, but I was also SOOOO tired the other day that I accidentally used actual parinthesees, you know, ( ) instead of the cute ones { }.

i could just die! i want to die even thinking about it! plz none of you think I would ever do that on purpose, ok?? Promise?

Anyways, the blessing was sooo awesome. I was extra greatful I made Queenie & Glamma redo Alivyiah's dress that fourth time to have it look exactly like my wedding dress, totally worth all the guilting and tears, and thanx to the benadryll the twins didn't make a peep the whole time. We could NOT be happier...the ginorm shadows from Alivyiah's bow covered her baby zits and same w/ Tridger's fohawk so it worked out perfect!

I mean sure, {white teeth clench} my darling JJWT didn't follow the script I gave him as close as I would of wanted but he did awesome and spelled out the names after he said 'em

{A-l-i-v-y-i-a-h T-r-e-c-o-l-e & T-r-i-d-g-e-r K-a-e-g-r-i-n}

so everyone got to really ponder there uniqueness. Then I testified of our awesomeness by telling my birth story from the pulpit and then left during the closing song to get the mini-cupcakes ready.

so, so greatful.

We forgive you- for not using cute {}!!!!!

Did you bring your laptop and play the slideshow of all your birthing pics while you were "testifying?"

Love it.

Mini cupcakes are the best ever treat. They send the quiet, sincere message,"Not that I think you are too fat for full size cupcakes, but..." How like you to be thinking of ways to strengthen those around you.

WhiteEyebrows said...

i've never heard anyone spell a name in a blessing... i guess only the super righteous do that.

Ashley said...

Awesome. I was GOING to say, that you SHOULD OF made Alivyiah's dress to look like your wedding gown...but I shouldn't of worried. You and Queenie and Glamma had it covered!!! THe question is, have you and your little princess had a photo shoot yet in your matchy-matchy gowns?

Ashley said...

Laughed so hard! Thank you!

Shelly said...

WOW. Not only did I do wrong by spelling my daughters name the old fashoned way....but I left out my birth story in my testimony....and I didn't have mini cupcakes. I need to seriously re-examine my life.

Jules AF said...

spelled them out... hahahahaha
I wouldn't be surprised if that really happened with all the crazy spellings....

Should I even bother to enter? I NEVER win :o(

Can we have a sample of your awesome script? I'm sure it was way inspired.

Do you think a big bow would cover my acne? I'm going to try it.

this is one of the more physically painful posts i've ever read. sometimes i am embarrassed to be mormon. 'testified of our awesomeness.' this slays me. thank you for mocking the idiocy of LDS culture. this made my day.

I am greatful it worked out. JJWT could have changed the name you know. He told me he was thinking of Gary and Linda.

Oh, the Benadryl! The leaving church early for cupcakes! (what? no faux cafe rio family feast? what kind of mother are you?!)

Sounds exciting! And btw - when are you taking the twinners to Disneyland? You KNOW that you can't be a righteous mom unless you take your kids to the Happiest Place on Earth every year of their lives, right? Especially since you're so close living in Zion. Better hurry and plan a trip before you head into Babylon this summer! I'm taking my 8mo daughter this weekend!!

Benadryll?! Lol

I hope people were there with pen and paper to write down the names so they could practice pronouncing and spelling them correctly.

That's what I do - I always take notes so I can remember each kid in the ward.

Leslie said...

Any Mom who is worth any thing-knows that Benadryl is the only way to go. Who cares what the Dr. says about no meds until 6 months. I mean, YOU are the mom.

You know, I realize you need to protect your privacy and all but can I plzplz see more boring pictures of objects around your house? I'd like to see a grouping of the presents you received for your showers, pictures of your tacky generic wall art etc. That way I can know how totally YOU-nique you are! I hope the blessings were just like Sleeping Beauty minus the whole curse thing. You know, hair as yellow as corn, pearly teeth, grace, a voice like a songbird etc. for little AlvaTreacle and something manly for Trudgercan'tgrin like a neck like unto Nephi, pecs like captain Moroni, a testimony like Abinadi and some day a super hot wife who will always be just a little bit inferior to his mother. I wish I had been there.

Carly said...

Oh my gosh, maybe first to comment? That's never happened to me before!

I always make sure to use {} instead of () too... don't worry I KNOW you'd never do that on purpose... you were just super tired.

Thanks for being so amazing!

You are so practically perfect in every way, we should call you Mary {Poppins}.

How do you pronounce Trecole?

I'm so glad you told your birth story in your testimony. I hate it when people keep important/spirichal experiences like that to themselves! Besides, people love the DT-deets.

Christa said...

so proud of you! I was on the first row...behind all of your family, so it was actually like the 3rd from the last row, but it was so amazing to see, I would have never even noticed Alivyiah and Tidger's acne...except that you had already told us. JJWT was so sweet when he talked about them growing up to be super models, wow what a calling from above!

Yeah, five days behind is pretty slow, but it was worth the wait.

You're so awful and I love it!

dharvey said...

I knew it would work out very well and that the baby's would be darling! So glad that you told all the details of the labor and delivery, as it is necessary that everyone in meeting needs to hear those details. XOXO -- D.

Shari said...

Sounds amazing. If only I could have witnessed it....

You're so totally experienced already...using Benadryl and everything. Thought that was my secret.

Awesome!

Wow. Thanks. Now I know that I really did do the right thing by having cookies in the lobby after sacrament meeting for my baby blessing!

I TOTALLY new you wouldn't use uglee parinthesees ON purpose!

So, please don't dye.

I am glad their baby zits didn't show. Ew, gross. Good call on the HUGE bow and fohawk! You are SUCH a good mom!

Janice said...

I can't believe that JJWT didn't follow your script exactly~ I'm sure he followed the promptings of the spirit and all that but really, didn't he realize that he has to live with you and not just the spirit?

amelia said...

Whoo! I was wondering why the blessing update took so long. Have you cashed in on the RS dinners :)

Little Lovables said...

I hope you wore your wedding dress too, so that everyone could see that they matched, after all it's YOUR special day too! Unless it is way too baggy now that you are so skinny now!

Were you able to smuggle in a voice recorder to hear the blessings?

Becky said...

You didn't mention anything about your outfit! How great did you look?

Brenick said...

woo!! first comment! :)

so so so glad that you had the courage to share your birth story during testimony meeting. birth stories always help me feel the spirit.

Tell me, was part of JJWT's script to bless that Alivyiah doesn't get chubs when she's older?

Ashley said...

Can you publish the script that JJWT was SUPPOSED to read? I'm dying to hear it!

GladysIcanbe! said...

Of course your a better mom than me but the Benadryl in sacrment cups works well too. I think their old enough for sacrment now that they've been seriouslysoblessed.

Anonymous said...

The Benadryll comment sent me over the edge....hilarious to the max! You drugged up your babies so they wouldn't cry during the blessing? I should remember that for my babies! Although they won't be as fabulous as yours!

Goob said...

I sure hope you bought extra yards of fabric to make her baptismal dress...you don't know if you'll be able to find that stuff again in 8 years and that would be heartbreaking if one of the "Three DResses" didn't match!!!!!

mindy said...

I loved hearing your birth story again, it never gets old! I noticed that the old guy sitting behind me wasn't too amused though. He must not have been in tune.

Katie M. said...

{I always feel the spirit so strong whenever people tell their birth story} from the pulpit--it then arouses a desire in me {to burst} out in song to 'Put your Sholder to the Weel'. Did you also testify {how awesome and celestial and gorgeous} your babies looked?

love ya tamners.

Hilarius. Do you think you can come and speak in a fireside for our ward. I'm sure all the youth AND parents will want to learn how to let their light shine from your example.

Hi, been stalking your blog. Now openly, since I am telling you. I love your blog. it is fantastic. : ) Love to read it at work when I am pretending to work. ; )

did you get Alivyiah have a white brainsquisher? it makes a cute scrunchy for her baptism pony and then she can use it as her wedding garter.

Sabrena Suite-Mangum said...

The benadryll comment made my skin crawl...especially because I know people who use the stuff for it's 'calming' effects.

Sick. Sick. and Sick.

I really hope as a subculture we're starting to see how ridiculous we are... bless you TAMN.

(And I still say "Babywise"is diabolical!)
