the ginormous apple!!

A couple reasons I'm sooo exited for time with some of my besties at this weekend's NYC girls trip Summer 2009!
  • time to MYSELF for ONCE!
  • Were gonna have tons of cupcakes and pictures of us eating said CUPCAKES!
  • can't wait to primp my brains out every day for the photo ops and stay up sooo late giggling about HS, cute brands of strollers, Zac Efron, strech marks {not mine} and blogs.
  • sooo pumped to have some nummy frozen hot chocolate w/ tons of pics of us sipping it!!
  • want to do TONS of ZANY things like ask people to take pics of us making SILLY FACES or something totally off the wall goofball...like if me and another girl on the trip accidently wear the exact-same outfit! Can you imagine?
  • We're gonna see Wicked and like a ton of other plays that will be incredible and amazing.
  • if there's time I want some pics of us standing in front of the darling temple making sassy faces at the camera.
  • also I plan to get soooo grossed out by all the dirties and go through buckets of the Bath & Body Works hand sanitizer in yummy flavors.
so greatful for Glamma whose flying in since don't get me wrong but theirs no way Alivyiah & Tridgers's daddy could ever take care of his own children.

FUN! Sorry your weekend will be such a bummer in comparison. Want me to post thirty pics of me in front of various stores to remind you how much your missing?

You are such a wise mother to realize that your husband should never, ever be burdened with his own children.

Have SO MUCH fun!

Just when I think you can't hit the nail on the head more accurately..you do!!

you should visit your brother and all his friends while you're there, so you can rank their eligibility and then auction the best ones off to all your searching sisters! Mo-Matchelor Take II! I'm sure Yvette would LOVE to date a smart, sassy, cultured man from the East! ;-)

I fill kinda bad that forever 21 opened in the University Mall. That was my favorite place to be in NYC. Now... not that special. I hope you shop only in stores that intend to stay in NYC. Then only people that go there can go there.

AAAAAAAAAAAAH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! The take care of his own children bit - so true to life. Hilarious.

Are you guys all flying on JetBlue since you all work reservations from home and get to fly for free?

This post made me cry a little bit. I should also be eating tons of cupcakes and taking millions of pictures, rather than puking my guts out.

I hope you have a horrible time!! Haha, just kidding. Sort of.

Only Glamma is watching the kids?! What about Queenie?! Who's gunna watch JJWT while Glamma watches the kids?

TAMN-
Where are you staying? I hope you emailed the church leaders in Manhattan asking if you and your besties could just crash on someone's floor while you were there... I mean why spend all the money on hotels (save it for the all the H&M's!) when church members are looking for service opps (and hello- you would totally return the favor if they wanted to stay on your couch in UT/CA/AZ/VA/ID).

MW said...

Yes! Get lots of pictures of you eating! And lots of pictures of the plates of food you'll be eating from! Glad you already know about the sassy face you have to pull.

Food blogs are my fav!

Hysterical. Sounds like all of my friends!

I heart you TAMN. Once again you are right on. Why is it so hard for baby daddies to take care of thier own kids? So sad but so true.
We know there are exceptions so don't all the guys reading this blog start getting all defensive!

And say hi to Galinda and Elfie for me when you see them on Broadway! So jealous! Oh and ps don't forget to bring back all of you EBFF's packets of Serendipity frozen hott chocolate mix when you go there! We can't wait! love ya!

Shane, Meg, CJ, RJ, and AL said...

If you see an almost naked guy wearing boots make shure you don't look cuz that's gross but take a pitcher with him and post it it sounds wierd but trust me its what you do if your in NYC with a bunch of girlfriends.

You are SO wild and crazy TAMN! I could NEVER do those outrageous things! Take ton's of pixx!!!!!

You didn't menchun going to Tiffany's. I heard the economy is hurting their bizz, so you need to spend big bucks there to help support their uneek elite-ness.

You have sooo many faithful followers. Do you ever call us your Tamn-nation?

Can't wait to see what knock-off handbags you score! I hope I hope it's Kate Spade, Gucci, and LV !

It's my anniversary this weekend so I would never say, out loud, that your weekend sounds way more fun. (Unless I can figure out how to ditch the baby for a few days.) Except, I really don't get it about cupcakes. I've tried to understand, but I just can't help thinking there are much tastier forms of calories to be found.

My 2-year-old thinks the baby in the box on the left sidebar (Tender Cargo ad) is really funny.

Christa Jeanne said...

Wow, TAMN, soooo jealous! Have a blast! Don't let them pull you into something spinsty and boring, like that Metropolitan Museum of Arrt. BO-RING! Make sure you check out the ginorm piano at Toys R Us instead!

Boobnazi---Frozen hot chocolate is from Serendipity's. Google it.

Jules AF said...

No, I know what it is. I just don't like the whole oxymoron thing. I think it's stupid. I don't need to get WHAT it is; I need to get why it's so popular. That's more what I meant.

Lynnette said...

NYC girls trip! That's a classic, I'm so happy slash jealous that you are going. Don't forget to take pix of all the adorable designer purses you buy on canal street!

Dustin and Laura said...

I am sooooooo jealous but then again you are such a better mother than I am that you rilly deserve it more anyway. Have fun! Luv u!

Madame Palmkey said...

Well I didn't know what frozen hot chocolate was, I guess I live under a rock. The name is really stupid though. Why not call it a chocolate daquiri? Chocolate ice? Ice cream? Chocolate milk?

Dear Ghostwriter of SSB:

Thank you so much for bringing me down a notch. I usually enjoy laughing at your posts because I think other people must do these things and it's great to get a laugh at their expense.

But today's post was about me! And I was humbled...

1)I went to NYC in May with eight other women. 2) We stayed up late talking about mommy stuff and hot men. 3) We took pictures of our food. 4) We saw Wicked and gushed about it. 5) We used too much hand sanitizer.

I'm so ashamed!

Sincerely,
Guilty as charged.

oh no. so THIS is what my wife's been talking about wanting to do?

Aren't cupcakes so four years ago? I really thought you were more with the times than that. Come on, TAMN, step up your game! I rely on you to tell me what is hot NOW!

There is nothing I like more than girls in suggestive poses making sassy faces in front of the temple.

SOOOO CLASSY!!!

Christa said...

yeah I have read this blog somewhere else...I think we all know a REAL TAMN or two

Goob said...

well, now its a proven fact. I AM the only mommy blogger in the US who is not headed for NYC this summer, next summer, or any summer in the near future, with, or without girlfriends of any sort. I'm not sure if I feel proud of myself for breaking the mold, or sad because I've not been invited. I'll go with the whole breaking the mold thing, that makes me feel better.

You forgot about the token trip to Pinkberry! Eat some for me!

Lola said...

When you go, make sure that you have your Tyra walk down. Those new yorkers <3 her! BAAA! I have been to NYC, and let me tell you, the B&B sani's work so well to fight off the dirty guys. But I did give one a dollar because he was playing 'Lucky' on his Sax!

Zac Efron is HOT!

Steph said...

TAMN make sure you get some froyo (pinkberry, red mango, yogurtland there are lots of options) while you are there. Please go to the Today Show and make a really cute sign so I know it's you. I'm so jealous.

Jeannie said...

Oh TAMN, I love frozen hot chocolate!

Rebekah said...

Thank you for the frozen hot chocolate mention. Honestly, it's just cold hot chocolate. At it's best, guess what? It's called ice cream. Mormon women of North America, get over it!

And I will punch the next person I hear singing Wicked songs in the larynx.

The Mostess said...

Totes did this trip years ago, way b4 cupcakes were all the rage.

**Yawn**

PS--I think Wicked sucks.

I am enjoying the fact that right after you switch to cloth diapers, you go on a weekend getaway.

Yes ! Please post dozens of photos of your wonderful time and all the really cool stuff you bought in the fabulous stores. That way, moms stuck in Zion w/ their 8 children and their husband out every night at Priesthood meetings will have something to feel wistful about. -- D.

Well CRAP. I go on vacay for a week and totally miss out on the giveaway. I totally would've won something this time too! Blast!

The Hot in Hot Chocolate is not referring to temperature. It's supposed to be spicy.

Love it! Have a great time...and remember who you are and what you stand for.

Polly said...

"Remember who you are and what you stand for." Wow...that takes me back. I didn't think that bit of advice would make it past the 70s, but I can see I'm wrong. (I meant the decade of the 70s, not the group of old men.)

Aubrey said...

I am so happy to have found this blog.

Tamn, I have to go to the (down there doc) tomorrow... I am flippin out! Any Advice!?!?!?!?

I am so glad you realize that daddy's can't take care of their own kids. I don't know a single mom who trusts their husband with their children-except (gasp) non perfect types!

suvi said...

AAAHHH! You know what you should do too? Go to the Manhattan 8th singles ward (b/c you will all be single girls w/o your husbands for the week) and show all the spinsties there WHY they are still single, cuz you and your dozen besties are so much hotter than they are (not as much fake tanning in nyc). And, all the hot young finance guys/advertising interns from BYU there are gonna ask for your numbers (they sometime forget to check for rings outside of zion) and you can flirt with them just a little bit to validate how hot you are.

Darcie said...

Um Tamn, I worked at Bath and Body for many many weeks (4 to be exact), and they're called "scents" not "flavors." Oh nevermind, flavors is way sassier.
