hollidays!

Soooo greatful for email fwds that bring alot into my life and exspecially the one I just got informing me that there're only SIXTY THREE sleeps til Christmas!

Now that it's Oct it's time for me to start thinking about people who will want to get me stuff, just a head up that these are my personal rules this year, since part of the sprit and meaning of the holidays is making sure people know what to get you slash avoiding them getting the wrong idea about how I'd be happy with socks;

1. I am only giving handmade gifts and have already started almost all of them. I WOULD post tutorials but I don't want to ruin suprises, and plus there all from OTHER blog tutorials but I'm pretending their my idizz.

2. I am only acceppting store boughten {list w/ pics and prices linked to the store to come!!}

What about craft kits that are store boughten? I'll start the project and then send it half-finished for Christmas, so the receiver will know the joy of completeing a project. So... handmade and store-boughten all at once.

No way! I was totally gonna knit you some glittens

TAMN! That is such a great idea! How unselfish of you to only accept store boughten items. That makes it so easy for your friends and family just to quickly run to the store and pick up the things you asked for instead of staying at home making things that are time consuming. That would cut into their scrapbooking, candle/hair bow making business, and of course preparing for home making night and preparing to teach the relief society/young womens lesson. How unselfish of you to make everything homemade! i can just picture the homemade candle holders now with vinal lettering. Oops hope i didnt ruin the suprise! I know you can fit that in your already busy schedule with the the twinsys and your hottie husband, because you are so ritcheous, and part of being ritcheous is extreme multitasking and time management. Which you are soooo good at. But please do tell us about all the other zillion things you managed to squeeze into your day while making your unselfish homemade gifts. It always amazes me how much more productive a ritcheous mom in zion can accomplish than a regular old single spinster like myself can do.

I'm leaving a comment just so I can click the box to have all the other comments emailed to me - cuz I can't wait to see what you other clever readers have to say about this one.

ps - I think the misspellings are a little overboard in this one. It needs to look a little more natural - not SO overdone.

Ah, TAMN. I love love love the double standard.

And I seriously hope people don't 'make a donation' to charity in my name for a gift. That is the worst gift ever!

Does anyone else laugh so hard you cry when you read this blog?!! I LOVE IT! A big FAT THANKS for making me laugh with every post!

Yes! This is perfect! "You give ME that XS cashmere cardigan from J Crew, and I'll give YOU a poem about how awesome our ward is! Sure...the poem is more thoughtful, and will last forever, and I rhymed 'Glenn Beck' with 'oh my heck' and 'pioneer trek,' but whatever. Thanks."

I hope you get a BFP for xmas, that would be totally cool. Plus then your xmas present to everyone can an announcement, which is super fun, and totally free. If not you can always fall back on your crafts that you are making, I bet they are so tia pan.

BAHAHAHA!! I think we must read the same blogs, bc I have seen THREE christmas list posts lately...good grief I love you. And Brian & Chelsea, honestly, I've seen every single one of these misspellings. The there/their/they're, the boughten, the "suprise," and I hate to say it, even "exspecially."

Wow.

Can we hand-wrap the presents?

Kami said...

THAT'S what they're missing...

Birthday and Christmas registries for everyone! A "wish list" just seems too passive!

Jeannie said...

Oh oh oh, but what if they are store boughten handmade gifts?

Anonymous said...

Let no commenter impugn your spelling! I like it dense.

(Plz, nobody notice that I've just put up a tutorial for something anyone could Google. Somebody asked for the tute, and who am I to make people wear their fingers out on internet searches when I could just regurgitate the info for them?)

Polly--you cracked me up!! Glenn Beck, Oh my heck and pioneer trek?!?! Get outta town!

Great question Token Asian Friend! (TAF?!)

TAMN, can you give us some instructions on deliverying the store-bought / wrapped gift?

You may not want to actually have to deal directly with the giftgiver. For instance you may totally not like the person, but you Luv, LUV, luv the gift (kind of the opposite of hating the sin, but not the sinner). A PO Box, drop-off location or proxy would be helpful.

Everytime I check you out I feel like I'm on drugs... I don't do drugs but I'm sure it's just as good as logging on to your blessed deal... I'll just keep checkin' you out. I just love you. Homemade is IT!!!

You forgot to say; "...only accepting store boughten with the gift receipt attached" so you can return it for cash...but I'm sure that was implied.

I'm gonna be in Italy for Christmas. I should've made rules too!!! Maybe there's still time? Fingers crossssseeedd!

SAHM,
My sister only gets hand made gifts, bc I know she returns EVERYTHING, and I am just a teeny bit spiteful that way. She can NEVER return anything from me. Bwaa Haa!

I'm totally bummed - I may have to stop reading your blog! Today I wrote their when I meant they're! GASP! Luckily I caught myself but I was definitely freaked out by my TAMN moment. Yikes.

I just told my fam about the rules (because I'm a copycat) and I can totally tell they LOVE it! They're trying to play it cool but I know they're pumped.

P.S. - I told my hubby not to get me anything for my birthday - can't wait to see what he does to celebrate my unselfishness!!!! If it works I'm going to do it again at Christmas. Only 62 sleeps now!

im so glad that you are luvin the christmas season as much as me tamn!

Beside hand-making crafts for everyone, you should also hand-make all your Christmas deccorations. They should be already to hang up the day after Haloween. Be sure to put large wood letters, spray-painted red and green, which spell out the word "Noel" in every room of the house. Also, styrofoam cones decorated with gold spray painted pasta shapes and tons of gold glitter are real nice. Fill free to use these idizz. Your welcome. XOXO -- D.

Um, not to be rude or anything, but that pumpkin with the blue bow? Is that supposed to be Tridger? Cause, if it is, um.... well...did JWJT see it? I mean, it looks sort of...ummm....like he isn't very.....ummmm....well, a bow is a bow, whether it's blue or not. Just saying. LOVE YOU!!!

Ouch, ramsam! I love doing that. If people need stuff, won't they buy it? What's so horrid about donating to a charity on Christ's birthday? (Yeah, yeah, it's truly on April 6th, I know.)
