dEaD 2 mE

Am. Dang. Serious. And. Mad.

Freaking out about this weekend's trunker treats and parties. As you can prolly guess if you know me or how I choose to spelt my kid's names and my home decor, I love being unique and get ticked when people ruin it. I WANTED ALIVYIAH TO BE THE ONLY FAIRY PRINCESS AND THERE WERE TWELVE OTHER ONE'S AT THE PRESCHOOL CUSTOME PARADE TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And ten other football player's! Poor Tridger! If there not uniquest I'll seem like a bad mom or worse, average. NEED NEW PLAN STAT.

Why does everyone always have to copy my ideas?

TAMN, everyone has to copy you because, as you know, you are the best. It's just one of those trails that comes with being so amazing and cute and uber unique. Other people just can't handle it, so they have to copy you.
Maybe Alivs could be Glinda the Good Witch, Tridgs could be the scarecrow, and you could be Dorothy (the skanky version, of course--with the sparkly red hooker shoes). What do you think? Not only is it super uniquest, but it's matchy-matchy, which is perfect for you.

haha i LOVE you!!! whenever I'm having a bad day, i just look on here and instantly start laughing. thank you so much!!!

You're totally doing service by helping those average unoriginal moms know what is in by following you and your righteous kids' examples. But just remember, those moms probably only bought their kids ONE costume apiece while you bought your kids a different costume for every Halloween party you're going to because you refuse to raise outfit repeaters.

TAMN, if you didn't start making 6 different outrageously elaborate handmade costumes for each person in the family in July, it's too late. Just say you all have the flu or go out of town for the weekend and start planning better for next year.

Melissa said...

Oh sweetie... I know you were trying to be all cr8tive and stuff... but fairy princess and football players are SOOOOOO last year! That's why you saw so many other kids dressed like that...

And I'm super busy right now, so I can't tell you what the cool costumes are at the moment. But I'll get back to you on Monday, m'kay? Lurve ya!

With Alivyiah being a diva, she shuld be lady gaga or ke$ha or something. and tridger culd be jake from the bachelor lolz!! cutest slash hipest kids of course.

Sara Townsend said...

Fairy princess??? That sounds like WAY TOO MUCH CLOTHES. Do you want Alivyiah to have bad self-esteem??

Scoresbys said...

I love that average is worse than bad. Ha ha ha ha ha!

Sally T. said...

Oh, TAMN. What happened? Surely, SURELY you knew how many fairy princesses there would be just by looking at those sales ads/emails/mailers for costumes!!! How could you not?

And it's waaaay too late to even start on new homemade costumes. All the good ones have to be started at least two months in advance. Everyone knows that.

whoa, a little bit much on the misspelled words. Now you're into using wrong tenses too. Wow...must be a rough time.

JenB said...

Wait. Did you use vintage plus feathers and glitter to make there costumes? Then it totally SHOULD OF been the unikest!

On a side note, your fetus looks way skinny. Good job!

Amy said...

Don't worry TAMN, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Clearly you were the first and everyone else is just copying you, so don't worry, your still unique and special.

Becky said...

Um, that's totally your fault for not making Alivyiah a darling cupcake. Oops!

Man! I dressed like the cutest witch ever to surprise my kids- and there was like, 50 of them there! Booo! (and not boo in a fun halloween way)

Liz said...

Oh no! What if they were bugs or little animals? Like a ladybug and a lion or something? That's SUPER unique! I bet NOONE eltse will have their babies dressed like that!

How about edward and bella!

Jessica said...

Alivyiah = Jon Bennet Ramsay

Tridger - Michael Jackson

What? Too soon?

Samantha said...

PUH-LEEZE dress Livs like Ke$ha and Tridgie like Justin Bieber!

Tell every body your too riotous to celibate a satanic holiday that also falls on the Sabbath. That way you have a HOLE year to design and create there costumes for FHE/Halloween next year plus you will have 3 kids to dress up unless of coarse you have another multiply birth. They could go as good, better, best, based on Elder Oaks confernce talk. Or 1st, 2st and 3st Nephi. That way your creative, unique and riotous all at the same time.

Kami said...

Hm, SO WEIRD there are so many fairy princess and yet nobody else dressed their baby girl up as a ninja last year.

We non-TAMN geek moms are so blah!

Fig said...

I bet you even made Alyviah's cute little tutu and matchy-matchy headband with ginorm flowers yourself. What a waste of all that hard work that people prolly SPYED on you doing.

Fig said...

Shoot, I think I misspelled Alivyiah. I bet you get SO mad when people do that. Like it's even that hard to remember where all the Ys and Is go. For the love.

Frau said...

Don't be a doormat! If you let it go this year it's gonna happen again.

Alyviah = Diva, Tridger = Feisty, TAMN = Assertive. It's not wicked and feministy if you assert yourself about your children and it's to other women and not the preisthood.

Charly said...

Holy, holy crap. In 2005 alone, there were FIFTEEN baby girls in a million named Aliviyah. GAHHH. Start calling her TreCole, stat, TAMN! At least Tridger's still unique. Stay strong!

Penny said...

Haaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! You make my eyes water. :)

I hate costume copying. It's like cheating on law/biz/med school final exams. It's against the plan.

GladysIcanbe! said...

here's a thought, just switch their costumes. Let darling Aaliviah be the football player and Tridger can be the fairy princess. No copiecats there. And besides, it will help them prepare to be good cousins to Uncle Derek's future adopted children.

Madame Palmkey said...

I'm kind of grossed out and offended that they're costumes aren't coordinated. Its like they aren't even part of the same eternal family. Its cutest if you dress them as a couple so everyone can fill a little uncomfortable taking that to its logical conclusion. LOL! Then you could take cute sepia pictures of them kissing and holding a rose.

Stephanie said...

Dear Jessica,
your suggestions of Jon Bennet Ramsey and Michael Jackson almost made me tinkle. I'm still recovering from the hard bout of laughter. Please, TAMN, do it!
I also enjoyed Gladys' suggestion a great deal.
I think your girl should dress like you, if not Jon Bennet. Either that or Oprah.

TAMN - how could you leave out your unborn baby from costuming this year? I was 7 months preggo with my 2nd baby during Halloween a couple years ago. I dressed as a sassy witch and on my belly I had made a cute little black cauldron that said "My little brew" on the front so everyone would know that I was brewin' up a little treat. Totally go all out for Baby's first Halloween!

Elizabeth Downie said...

You should probably mention this in your next testimony meeting. Be vague yet just specific enough so the guilty parties know who they are. Talk about what a trial it was but how you are going to rise above it!

Daknife said...

Well Aliv should definitely go as the one true princess, Audry Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's, Trid you need to get real creative, he needs an 18 m/o sized muscle suit, and he can go as one of the stripling warriors. A real heroic faithful warrior, not some wimpy roid raging footballer.

Or one other option is what football player is tridge? It should be some BYU superstar like Steve Young, Jim McMahon, Ty Detmer, or Max Hall.

And what is GladysIcanbee trying to say about Uncle Derek?

Melissa said...

I consider myself to have a pretty wicked sense of humor and NOTHING on this blog has EVER offended me until the comments about Jon Bennet Ramsey. She was someone's CHILD who was MURDERED. Just can't get the humor there at all. Maybe because we've had a family member murdered...but there are a few things in life that I just don't need to be made a joke.

Jessica said...

I heart Erin.

Sarah said...

You could dress them up as mini TAMNS and JJWTs! That would be super cute, and super original. Plus, it would put the message about how not-average you are, cuz your offspring want to be as rightus as your are!

Madame Palmkey said...

Also Frau, I love you.

Ashley said...

You srsly don't have more than one costume for Aliviah and Tridger? Im apalled.

Kat Green said...

People are always going to copy the poop out of you, TAMN. Remember, imitation is the sincerely form of flattery. Showing up in a certain costume at pre-school, then pulling a switcheroo for trunkers is exactly the right strategy.

Science Teacher Mommy said...

Footballer is really your only option though if you want him to grow up, you know, normal.

dharvey said...

Dress up a little girl as Jon Benet Ramsey?
Really? This is ha-ha funny?

Unknown said...

I heart Melissa. I've also never been offended by this blog until that comment. I was in the middle of laughing at all the others then my heart sank. Let's keep it light and not joke about murdered children. Some things are OFF LIMITS.

Little Lovables said...

I hope you painted their faces as zombies.. so they could be a dead football player and princess! it would be totally younique!

Unknown said...

Did you let your darling children take their Halloween loot to church yesterday? Half the kids in our Primary had their trunkertreat goodies with them. I hope nursery didn't have the same problem! Of course YOUR little darlings would have kept it in their bags and not caused any sort of distraction! Judging by all the wiggles they all ate candy for breakfast too - it was FaNtAsTiC! Especially since I'm a brand new music leader {right before the PROGRAM!} and the presidency was {ahem} kind enough to give me all of Primary for singing time since it was a 5th Sunday. {YiPpIe!!!}

thanks debbie..."it's against the plan" hahahahaha!

M-bare-UH-sing! My 2 cute-E's were Beauty and the Beast- and won tonz of costume contests from it. Of course they were homemade, but of course I didn't make them- I was too busy {gasp} working. Thank goodness for Grandma Texas!
