funnest pionneer day ever

oh my gosh you guys!

Being in UT for Pioneer Day was sooo fun! It was busy busy busy, taking pics of me and NuggetBunzers drawing hearts and stars with sparklers with our best CFFs {thanx Kara & Danny, Jenn & Ty, Britt & Jared, Mel & Paul, Court & Jordan for such a BLAST!}! We all went to Rio and got froyos and just catched up w/ everyone since I haven't been home in two weeks and it fills like forever.

Know what's weird? WE ALL HAVE BABIES AND LINED THEM UP TO TAKE PICS!!! It was fun seeing as how Tridger's fohawk was best and Alivyiah's vintage-inspired dress the most cute. Plus now that we're from DC I think we {and our babies} come acrosst as way more east coast.

p.w. you know whichever pionneer story you heard in church yesterday? that was MY descendant! cool right? seriously i'm related to all of 'em. Well, the good ones.

So greatful for pionneers.

I'm so glad you made it for the 24th of July! So much more festive than the 4th of July!

I married a pioneer family...my husband joined the church two years ago and ever since we've been doing his fam history just to prove it...we know it's in there somewhere.

Ugh! Totally jealous b/c I had to throw our awesome Pionner Day Picnic instead of just attending. I had to bbq food (well, I tricked the hubs into doing that) and set out salads. No time to decorate a radio flyer like a handcart OR wear my sassy pioneer outfit custom made by my MIL. Frillz!!

All in all, tho, it's not so bad. I get credit with God for throwing parties--activities is the best "calling" around!

did you try out for sytycd? they were in slc on the 24th. please tell me you met cat or nigel or someone.

GAAAHH!! What is it with the made-up word "acrosst"??! I'm not even kidding, it drives me CRAZY! lol and everyone in Utah is a descendant of pioneers. It's true.

East coast fashion takes about 18 months to make it to Utah, so your cute babies are wearing the clothes now that your CFF's kids won't wear until they're TWO. I hope you mentioned that to them!

Yeah I just have to point out, I compared this post w/ the one from last year, and TAMN, your spelling has SERIOUSLY improved! I'm so proud.

The pioneers might be your offspring, but the next Prophet is my descendant.

I think that rather than leaving DC to go to the 24th of July, you should have broughten the 24th of July to DC. Maybe next time?

Court and Jordan are a boy and girl, right?

(ahem...) We're all related to all of them. That's why half of us have spherocytosis or other homozygous-recessive disorders.

thank goodness that you didn't forget about the REAL independance day, instead of the 4th. The pioneers are so much more important! And you know that it is totally true what some prophet said, about the pioneers not trading places with us, because our lives are way more hard. I mean Rio only twice a month... That is beyond a trial.

You are SO blessed to have great pie-near progeniturs. All I've got is that my fourth great grandpa was the evil wagon master who wouldn't let Mary Fielding cross the plains with him, so she went on her own and beat him into the valley.

Seriously. You're waaaaaaaaay more righteous than I am. I wanna be just like you.

BEST. COMMENT. EVER.

I forgot my other comment. I told my 9-year-old daughter that Taylor Swift's "She's cheer captain and he's on the bleachers" and her "You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess" are the same song, but my daughter just INSISTS they are two different songs. I don't know how she can tell them apart, so I guess I'll just have to take her word for it.

Having pioneer descendants makes one more naturally ritechus, I think. Amazing that my Mr. Hottie and I have the same descendants!

Hope you share this next Sunday during the good news minute. It might help those who are less worthy in the mission field to feel more righteous by association.

One of my ancessters (not to be confused with an incestor) was killed in Missouri -- he was even mentioned in the Work and the Glory. Just thunk! He knew the Steed fambly.

So many dedicated bloggers have more than one blog. One for the recipes they've developed for home wrecking mtgs, another for their crafty ideas, another for their amateur photography (hoping to make any and all of the above a stay-at-home-momma-making-a-profit.

How many blogs do you have? Perspiring minds wanna know.
