big parenting decisions way me down

This is like my first huge dillemm as a mom {besides circumscizion :)}.

Here's the thing:

Sunday is Easter. And my former-feti-now-twinsies have the freaking cutest outfits ever.
Alivyiah TreCole has the poofiest tutu in America with a bow the size of our Escalade and Tridger Kaegrin has the most darling vest and I've been practicing his special ocassion fo-hawk all week.

Sooooooo exited and seriously can't wait for their church debut and for everyone to see them and how flattering pastels are on my skinny post-pardon self.

but.

now.

I don't know.

I just don't know.

Just found out Lynzii is blessing her triplets on Sunday.

What to do? Go and risk letting her steal the baby spotlite, or stay home and let the Easter darlingness go to waist?

Ugh. Being a mom is sooo hard. I'm to young for these type of responsibilities!

Lynzii needs to be reminded that it is NOT fast Sunday on Easter so she needs to reschedule. Of course you have already reserved May 3rd for your stinkerbuttons so she has to push the triplets back to June. Then you will have confirmation that your twinsies are way more richeouser than her little runts since yours will be on the church records before hers.

longlostblue said...

wow, tamn, that is a REALLY hard choice! but I think you should still go, that way your adorable twinsies will steal LYNZII's spotlight! how could they not!?

Stephanie said...

Her triplets are soooo last month. You'll steal the show because they are so much newer.

Jennifer said...

TAMN you've only been a mother a few short weeks and already you have to deal with so much stress. I am so frowny Lynzii is trying to show up such a good mother like you who has gone to a lot of effort to dress your babies to perfection this easter sunday. It is so selfish of her to try and show you up like this. Does she ever think of others?

thecapitall said...

Puh-leaze, TAMNers. We ALL know your teensies are so much more adorabler than hers. Besides, what better time than testimony meeting to steal everyone's peepers away from the triplet's lacy-with-a-four-foot-train blessing dresses and publically witness that YES, righteousness pays off, because after all JUST LOOK!! *Simba-like baby hoisting, times two*

Heather said...

No a fence TAMN, but your twinsies are too young to go to church anywayz! Do you WANT them to get sick with what everyone else's kids have? I guess maybe then you could get more attention when they're HOSPITALIZED, but pity is not as fun or darling as admiration. Stay home. Unless the outfits have the actual word EASTER written on them, they'll be just as cute when you debut them in a few weeks.

Ruthykins said...

that's a tough one. on one hand you don't want lynzii's triplets to upstage your little darlings, but you totally need to show them off. plus, you don't want people thinking that you are a wuss and staying in bed for weeks after having the kids. i think you should go and listen to the babies blessings and take notes. then have jjwt give way awesomer blessings when the time comes.

Becky said...

Tamn, sweetie, you shouldn't be taking your precious babies to church yet anyway. As way cute as they are, there are tons of gross germs at church. Of course, everyone will want to SEE your little darlings, but you don't want them to actually TOUCH them yet!! Just use your awesome photog skills to document their absolute cuteness.

momodafoxes4 said...

How did she pull that one off?? The church leaders most totally frown on these kinds of things not being done on a Fast Sunday.....Fast Sunday happened the week before conference...she's doing it all wrong!!! I say go....and why can't you bless your little ones too??? That way, the WHOLE meeting will be taken up with the wonderfulness of baby blessedness and your babes would be the last thing in the congregations memory...outfits, names, and all!

Kathleen said...

You should todally go becuz then lynzii can practice not being prideful since her kids are less cute than yours! You would be doing servus if you went!!

Heather said...

Wait, just noticed that Sunday is Easter, but Lynzii is blessing her triplets TOMORROW. So I don't really see the dilemma, because she can't steal the spotlight if no one is there to witness the blessings.

the letter Bee said...

Who sez poofy tutus, Escalade bows and fo-hawks are just for special acasions? Only the cutest and most-loved babies wear that stuff year round.

Jean said...

Oh my gosh Tamners, this is SO UNFAIR TO YOU!!!!!! Lynzii is totally not even THINKING about your twinsies darling outfits!!! Uuuugggghhh. If she was a good VT, then she would totally not even show up on Easter Sunday so that it can be you and Jesus's special day. :-)

Carolyn said...

Go! Lynzii's triplets will all be in boring white outfits for their blessings. White totally washes out babies -- your twinsies in their adorable easter outfits will be so much brighter and cuter by contrast!

Christa said...

I agree with Heather, way to young. Plus absence makes the heart grow fonder, so make people wait an extra week and the swooners will be lined up next Sunday.

Darrell and Amanda said...

I think you should still go. Your former feti will be way freaking cuter in their Easter outfits than her triplets, plus your way hotter than she is!

Jessica said...

Since you shouldn't take your darling non-feti out yet anyways, I think you should make an uber-cute poster with a gazillion photos of the twinsies in their Easter outfits, complete w/ sparkles and Cricut decorations and then put it on an easel outside of the chapel so everyone is reminded on the way in and out of your adorable offspring!

mindij said...

If you do go just be sure you bare your testimony before Lynzii to show off your thin "post-pardon" self! That'll show her!!

Teri said...

Super hard choice girly. I think you should def go cause of the following:
- you need to hear the 3 baby blessings to make sure yours will not be the same and therefor super unique, special, and spiritual.
- it is important that everyone see how quickly you bounced back and that the twinsies have a super mom and are the cutest babies around and they make the triplets look like runts.
- Next years Easter outfits will be all about hats and white gloves so you MUST get the tutu on display ASAP.

ABrunettesLife said...

Well, obviously you just show up late. Like during the rest hymn. That way everyone has already forgotten about Lynzii's triplets, and you have the chance to give everyone the "I'm a new mom, please excuse our lateness frown smile". make sure you cross the entire length of the chapel before you find your seat in the middle of the congregation( with extra room for Alivyia's bow of course). Your twinsies will steal the show. No problem

Cristin said...

TAMN, you are going to church way to soon. Aren't you supposed to take 6 months off post baby?

April said...

While no other babies formerly known as feti could ever compare to your darlings, you half to consider that EVERY other baby slash kiddo will be wearing their best outfits EVER that day too.

So the BESTEST idea would be to debut the BFKAF (babies formerly known as feti) on a day when every other baby will be wearing the same old wal-mart dresses and cordouroy pants, then let your mini metro guy and teensy righteous girl steal the show in outfits waaaaayyyy to cute for the occassion.

Frau said...

Easy. You should go to church and have everyone gasp and coo over the fact that you are so faithful for coming back so soon.

Then, you realize that it was too much in the middle of the blessing and get up and leave. Make sure Love-kibab is holding them both high so everyone stares at them instead of the back of the Bishop's head.

By the time Lynzii's balding 'band is done, her baby will be all crying and ugly in comparison. Once one starts, the rest will start and you will TOTALLY steal her thunder.

Nikki said...

Her babies are so yesterday's news. They are fat now. Fat babies are boring

Amanda said...

Who wrote this? A contraction was used properly. TWICE. This is clearly not TAMN writing.

On another note, I would totally wait and then when you bring them next Sunday, you can act like their "Easter outfits" are obviously everyday wear for bebes as cute as yours.

Allison said...

This is easy. Go. It's Easter! Just make sure you tell everyone your darling twinsies' names REALLY LOUD and over and over. Lynzii's babies' names aren't nearly as adorable and unique, so no one will even remember them. Problem solved.

MamaBear said...

you should totally go. it's true, Lynzi's trips will be in white, so yours will be way cuter without even looking at their faces - then they'll totally blow everyone away!

don't worry about germs. your TFKAF are such superior specimens they're sure to have superior immune systems. (have all the worry-warts forgotten who writes this thing?)

have a fab time! i can't wait to see the easter baskets you make the TFKAF!

Mhana said...

Hear is my advise. Have your twinner's blessed at home (Or daddy's house -- bigger n fancier!) I know, your thinking now way they've got to be the center of attention! Use your stampin' up skills to make precious invitations for every cute family in the ward, then make your fam and miamaids turn it into a swaray with decorations and stuff. It'll be almost like another baby shower and maybe folks'll bring gifts! Plus it'll be so much uniquer than just going for sacrament meeting and people will talk about it for evah! AND then there won't be any talks to distract from the babies -- unless you and JJWT decide to give talks!! I was blessed at home and now I'm getting married in the temple. Just sayin'.

Joni said...

TAMN. Don't be stupid. What better way to one up that freak but by showing up looking waaaaaaaaaaaay more skinny and with babies that are obviously way cuter? You could offer to hold each of those other little stinkpots right before they are blessed and then pinch them so they cry all through the blessing, and then no one will hear a word.

Larsen's said...

I would just take them! Everyone has probably already seen the triplets and everyone will be so excited to see you and the twins. Plus...it is Easter don't let another person take your first Easter (holiday) away from you. Enjoy the day with your sweet babies!
BTW your names are the soo soo cute! Love them!

Steve & Alli said...

You most definitely have NOTHING to worry about. I mean really, you are already back in your pre-prego clothes I'm sure, so everyone will be gasping about how great you look compared to Lynzii and she's had like, a month to work it off already! Then your twinners will look soooooo darling IN COLOR while the trips are in pastey white which isn't flattering. Plus Alivyiah will be wearing that tutu with the ginormous bow- I mean who's even going to notice the trips?

Casey and Jeannie said...

Well, we obviously know what kind of a person Lynzii is, putting this kind of stress on you. *shaking head* I don't see how you get through each day.
But, seriously TAMN, could you NOT go to see her blessings? I mean, you have to see how long and boring it's going to be, so the two of you can practice YOUR blessings.
Plus your darling feti will steal the show. How could they not?

Jess said...

Hmmm... Tutu, big bow, fo-hawk... Nuff said for me to tell you that YOU HAVE TO GO! Besides the L word won't be there for all of church, she has to go home for her sad luncheon. You on the other hand will be able to be there for all of church and can show of your blessed twins.

wende said...

hello?! i'm sure your babies will steal HER spotlight, so i say GO. besides, that's what she gets for trying to steal EASTER's spotlight. rude. you show her tamners.

Brooke said...

Fo-hawk. Post-pardon self. To young.

Thank you, TAMN. I needed you today!

Jordan said...

Obviously, Lynzii is being soooo selfish to bless her babies on the day she knows that everyone, including the *whisper* "less actives" will be there to see. Take your sweet twinses to church and, when you're up on the stand to give tithing to the bishop, comment loudly how sad it is when people have to ask for attention by doing things when everyone is looking. Make sure the microphone is on. Before you go back down make sure to cuddle your sweet babies so the congregation can be blessed by their cuteness.

This most deff has the circumcision dilem beat. Condolences.

Sarah said...

OMG, TAMN! You totally need to stay home. The Easter Darlingness can totally be captured in camera form. DO NOT GIVE AWAY YOUR SPOTLIGHT.

And think: If you're not there, it's just teasing everyone else who's DYING to see your twinners! They'll be even more excited to see you next week!

TAMN, ya gotta wait.

Emily said...

go ahead and go. lynzii's babies probably have the gross baby acne right now, but i'm guessing it hasn't quite gotten to your twinners (if it even does at all!).

Token Asian Friend said...

Perhaps if you incorperated twinkling lights....

And sat behind the bishop...

Howertons in Iowa said...

Steal HER thunder- this Easter Sunday is totally about YOU, and of course a fashion show- at least that's what I've heard..

Matt and Jennae Porter said...

Um, you todally have to go and take notes so that JJWT's blessings can be way more spirichal and bless your twinsies with way more things than Lynzii's babies get blessed with. Also, 3 girls is lame. girl & boy in coordinating outfits is soooo cute!! Also, did u really spell "debut" correctly? TAMN have u gotten all smart on us?

Keddington Chronicles said...

Be careful Tamners, this kind of stress could bring on a little more than just the postpartum blues. You wouldn't want to spend the first year of your former feti transformed darling doubles lives' in a gray cloud of darkness. Go get a pedi, buy some chocolate strawberries (don't eat more than one), and then reconsider your whole situation. If things still seem bleak, you may want to call your Doctor.

myimaginaryblog said...

You know, somehow I never did dress my boys in vests, but then my sister handed one down to us and I put it on my toddler son and it actually was pretty darn cute.

I know that doesn't shed any light on your dilemm; I just wanted to say that some of us learn late in life what others like yourself knew all along.

(But I really think you should put him in a three-piece suit and clip tie.)

Meredith said...

I don't know...maybe after you stay home this week and go next week you can remind her how dangerous it is to bring those babies out during RSV season and it was way smarter of you to wait one more week! And I thought of you and ways to keep lookin' hot as ever...

Ok TAMN, here's the dill. You totally should NOT go! Lynzii is blessing her babies on EASTER? Your darling self should not expose your sweet and innocent little twinners to such unrichisness so early in their lives!
What you should do is go ahead and dress them up in their way awesome outfits and take them to your mom's ward. I'm sure she has told everyone there about how amazing the twinners are, and I am sure they will get proper attention. Then maybe next week you can take them to JJWT's parents ward and keep your ward in MAJOR suspense. Plus you can practice the best way to debut them properly. That also gives you 2 more weeks to find the poofiest tutu in the world (not just in America) and maybe your little prince's hair will be a little longer and he can have a way cooler fo-hawk.
Seriously, you shouldn't let that thunder-stealing Lynzii get to you. You are seriously waaay more blessed than she is. Her kids probably fell out of the ugly tree anyways and could never hold a candle to your amazing offspring.

Sadie said...

I seem to think of the primary song, " give said the little stream, give o give, give o give!" during times like this. Give Linzi a call, tell her to GIVE you Easter Sunday, and GIVE those cuties a cheek pinch for me!

The Singlutionary said...

Wow. I know. I can't wait to see your post-pardon self. You should totally post a pic. You will be inspiration to all the women out there pre-pardon.

Bradley, DeAnna, and Donovan said...

This is so easy, my husband and I alternated staying home from church until we were ready to expose our little one to all of the disgusting germs at church. Have JJWT stay home with the twins so they don't get sick and you go to church to show off your "post-pardon" bod in those flattering pastels. It's all about you anyway, right? Wait until the spotlight can shine exclusively on your babies!

kris and judd said...

YOU'RE considering not going to church?!?!!?
SO unrichous. I almost frownsmiled, but the thought of Tridger's baby fo-hawk made me happy again!

whyimstillsingle said...

I say skip church. You CAN'T have Lynzii stealing your spotlight.

Stephanie said...

don't teach your kdis that it's okay to skip church on Easter Sunday. Lynzii is crazy for taking this sacred sabbath to bless her babies, and everyone will look down on her for it. But they'll look up to you for not doing it.

Public Artist said...

Uggh. That Lynzii is such a toad. You shud use this as a way to teach her how bad her jealous beahavior looks. You shud go and leave the twins at home with JJWT. Then you can mintion how she crashed your shower and how you fill so sorry for teh triplets with their way unritchus mom. Make sure to announce that your blessing isn't going to steal the attenchon away from the resureection. Then you can get the mia maids to hand out blessing announcements and start a new convention.

Amanda said...

Are you seriously considering taking your babies to church ALREADY? Don't you know you have to wait at least 3 months because the germs at church are so bad. Of course you can take them other places - run all kinds of errands with them, take them to playgroup, shopping at gymboree, the gym daycare - but church??? At least 3 months - maybe 6 because you had twins.

SAHM: Surviving Assorted Home Mayhem said...

Wow. You beat me to it. Because I was totally going to write a comment right after you had your darling little ones poking good natured fun at how surely you'd do the righteous thing of attending church right away despite a little thing just having given birth. Because that right there, is yet another one of those oh-so-right-on UT/Mormon cliche's.

Mina said...

So did you go? Did you totally show up Lynzii's scrawny triplets? Get all the utension? Take away her spotlight? I hope so, cause that's what Easter's all about!

She She Me said...

I sincerely hope you are waiting several months before taking those darling little angels into the depths of germ-infested scary churchville! You'll need several weeks of prep (i.e. mass emails to ward requiring face masks be worn by entire congregation and/or HazMat team hosing everyone down at front door) and you know those little angelmuffins only get cuter by the minute, so no hurries darling! Let 'em get worked into a lather of anticipation!

Lauren said...

I hope hope hope you went, cute outfits cannot EVER be wasted:) Besides, your twinsies are much better looking and way newer and therefore much more sweeter/interesting!

Wow all I can say is wow and I really wish that you were being facetious with all of this, but after reading a few of your posts I am literally sick. You sound like a jr. high student, not someone who should have the responsibility of having twins. It should not matter who got blessed first or who is more "richeouser." What you and everyone else have been saying are the most sacrilegious things I have ever heard of, it doesn't even matter if a baby gets blessed or not, that doesn't make one person (or twinzies) more righteous than another. I'm really glad I am not in your ward or I probably would have apostasized due to you and your antics. Also, the fact that your husband is rich and hot and is in biz/law/dental whatever school has NOTHING to do with whether or not he should be bishop. Wow, ridiculous.
