MoMatchelor Micah's darling dates
I can’t imagine a better way to celebrate the end of a tedious summer studying for the bar exam than dates with the three beautiful women chosen for me by TAMN’s readers. I enjoyed getting to know each Mo-Matchelorette.
Stacey and I hea
ded to the Salt Lake Art Center, one of Utah’s many unique art galleries. We hoped to see paintings from the prisoner’s art therapy program but missed the boat on that exhibit by two days. Luckily, Stephanie Wilde’s Harmed display didn’t disappoint.Following the gallery, we enjoyed a vegan lunch at the earth-friendly Sage’s CafĂ©. I highly recommend the fresh basil pesto pasta—tastes like they took acres and acres of fresh basil and turned it into a single serving of pesto. Stacey and I can easily talk for hours (and we did!). We both have backgrounds in the law and need health insurance. The thing I like most about Stacey is her drive to always learn something new—not only does she have a law degree, she’s currently taking classes in biology and physiology.
Rachael and I met up at the Broadway Centre Theater and started to get to
know each other while walking a few blocks to Stoneground. We dined on yummy Italian entrees while enjoying the hip ambiance of the refurbished Salt Lake Roasting Company building. Following dinner, we sauntered back to the theater where we saw Food, Inc. Food, Inc presents an interesting and powerful message about food choice. Rachael and I had a good conversation afterward about the film’s biases and making environmentally and socially healthy dietary selections. There are many things I admire about Rachael—she has strong family values and works extreme hours as a nurse. My favorite thing about her is that she looks for ways to help others. She is hoping to use her nursing skills to benefit the less-advantaged in developing countries.
Emily and I have mutual friends who happened to be in town when we decided to go on our date. We doubled up with our friends and headed to Midway to make dinner. We dined on halibut, asparagus, and lemon-scented quinoa salad with tahini dressing. Following dinner, we went for an evening bike ride around the Midway bird preserve and caught up with our friends over some chocolate cake and coconut milk ice cream. Emily and I have a lot in common, aside from our mutual friends. We both served missions in Japan, and we love the East Coast. Emily is extremely kind and thoughtful—she sent me a card right before I took the bar exam to wish me luck.
I’m issuing a to-be-continued. Each date sparked my interest, and a second meeting with each Mo-Machelorette is definitely necessary before the elimination round. Tune in next time for the most dramatic rose ceremony yet!

from TAMN's inbox: you're emails pt II
Hate to be a downer during BIRTHDAY WEEK and mostly I keep these things to myself but my feelings are aching. Seriously! Is it so wrong that I'm happy? Is it so wrong to love my spinstie friend and want to help her??
{these are 100% real, swear it}
I randomly clicked on your blog and I feel so sorry for you. The fact that you have to wake up every morning and be you is more than I could ever bare. You are obviously so extremely selfish!!!!!!! I am ashamed that you are LDS as well. I believe it is self-righteous like you that make the rest of us look so bad. I honestly hope that you don't have children because the thought of you raising innocent children to grow up and be as mean, self-centered, self-righteous, selfish, judgemental, and evil as you is not fair to the children or the rest of the world. You need to realize (and fast) that being mormon doesn't automatically make one a great or good person. Just because your friend isn't living her life the cookie-cutter way you think she should be doesn't mean she is going to have a horrible life. How can one person be so selfish!!?? The sad thing is you probably know just how selfish you are, but you simply don't have the want or the capacity to care. I hope, for your sake and the world's that someday you learn how to be a good person.IS IT SOOO WRONG TO BE HELPFUL!? I am NOT selfish! I think about other people all the time, for example I read blogs, tip generously, text even the homely MiaMaids, and also I craft. And as for the insulting of my twins Alivyiah & Tridger, you do NOT want to see me turn into MAMA BEAR!!!
WOW, I stumbled on your blog, and could not pass up an opportunity.... I had to read your entry 3 times to be sure it was not a joke. Are you really a Leader in your church, girls are suppose to look up to you and take your example? Hmmmm Ever heard of a Jack Mormon. Look at you go, and about your Best Friend who is about to take a huge leap for something she believes in. I am sure she appreciates your support.-- Hope I never meet a friend like you. Or have one for that matter.. And all these other comments.... bet it would be nice to have at least 1 friend who calls you out and tells you how wrong you are...I guess maybe I do not get the whole situation, but guess what... I do not have to to be able to form an outside opinion. I hope for her sake Yvette, NEVER see's this blog, or your So Called BFF may not ever speak to you again.... What is BFF anyways, friends until you do not approve of her.. Good thing you are perfect!Okay, seriously, what is with all these ppl defending Yvette? I'M NOT THE FAT ONE HERE YOU GUYS!

i feel so ANCIENT!
Know what I love {besides Anthro, Twilight, Cheesecake, damask, HANDMADE, and being adorable}? How much, w/ carefull planning, layer after layer of passive agressive behavior works out in my favor!!
For most big deal holidays {birthday, Christmas, Valentines, Easter, Halloween, spring break, anniversary of wedding, anniversary of dating, anniversary of first kiss, anniversary of first tongue kiss, monthiversary of wedding, monthiversary of dating, monthiversary of first kiss, monthiversary of first tongue kiss...just the important ones} it works like this. I say "I don't want anything." Cutiebunz says "Seriously?" and I'm all "I mean it this time, SERIOUSLY!"
Then, there is only two options.
{1} he ignores what I say and gets what I mean, so buys me tons of stuff that I've recently blogged about. I jump up and down and clap my teensy hands in suprise and delight and blog about how good he is at gifting!
{2} he accidentally believes what I say, which means I pout for a while but is no big dill bc I've already shopped for myself in case of this, so I just wrap up the stuff I got me, take edgy vintage photos of it, pretend he picked it out and blog about how good he is at gifting. Plus then I get apology gifts, usually from JJWT and sometimes from my parents who feel bad that JJWT made me sad!
Bro Covey would probably call that a WIN-WIN-WIN.
Basicly, can't go wrong! best birthday ever.

with love
I love you, hottie.
Looks like she finally outgrew the 'birthday week.' She doesn't want anything, so I'll probably grab a redbox on the way home tonight. Maybe Little Caesars? Dang that sounds good.
Happy birthday babe.

i have the pouties
{1} they haven't released the girl they called to hold my spot while I was gone so I'm not "technically" the MiaMaid advisor again yet, so even though I still go to YWs and text the girls sassily, it's just not the same.
{2} a meanie emailed me and said {these} are for MATH and I should stop pretending they are (these). Ew! {W}hy is she trying to make my blog {ugly}????
{3} JJWT is still the BEST HUSBAND EVER but cuz of school I NEVER get to play w/ him, seriously, take how busy you and your hub are and times that by a million and that's like one sixth of JJWT & I's busy-ness.
{4} My infertilities. Trying is soooooo exhausting.
{5} Yvette.
{6} Queenie and Glamma left me alone w/ the twins last week for there spa day when they KNEW i hadn't had a pedi in two weeks.
Ugh, at first I thought I was just being dramatic but now that I see it handwritten, wow, that is bad, no WONDER my heart is heavy right? Just hope no one forgets any big days coming up bc that would be the saddest of all.
Anyways, know what just occured to me no real reason? I was just thinking today that I love love love really complicated vintage party decorations, color-themed snacks, darling party favors, and a new vintage frame for my updated footprints poem.
Also just in case anyone cares I {heart} dresses, and GCs, and cruises, and Changs, and cameras that cost at least a grand.

**hate to be vulgar but HOLY CRAP**
Wtfreak.
So confused and sad, if I don't just splurge on here for a sec I'll die. Remember Yvette, the ONLY one in my group of BFFs from jr high who is STILL SINGLE? I have been nothing but selflist w/ her from the gitgo. Have I tried to help her? Have I asked her nicely to stop eating? Have I given her fell-proof dating advice time in time again? Have I snuck her bikini's on singles cruises and boughten her dr pepper chapstick to help her get a piece? H YA I HAVE!
And after all that guess what she went and did?
Took any chance she had to be skinny and cute and eat fro yo and have a lifetime of taking pics of her feet pointed inward and she went and THROUGH IT OUT THE WINDOW. Does she even want to have a hubby and an etsy hairband shop??
W/o even telling me she went and put her papers in. Repeat. THEY ARE ALREADY IN.
If she ever gets married it will not only be a miracle but will also involve a station wagon instead of a escalade.
Ew.
Guys, I just want her to be happy. And by happy I mean me.

baby-makin'
Time is zipping by so fast. Tridger & Alivyiah are already 5 mos old! Can you believe?? Anyways, since we still have an adorable ton of 0-3 month cloths that they hardley even got to wear, sooo...
We have been trying to have another baby.
all week.
and still NOTHING.
NOTHING.
Waaaaaaaaaaa! Last time it happened the same nite I thought of it. I called my poor frumpy aunt whose been trying to have a kid for 15 yrs and just said "Hey girl, guess what, I TOTALLY KNOW HOW YOU FEEL NOW!" and just started bawling.
She didn't SAY so but betcha she appreciated it.
Couldn't rilly hear her response, since my darling twins were screaming in the background from burps and over-all adorability, but it was so nice to tell her that I can rilly understand what she's going thru and I bet for her it's just nice to have someone that can RELATE ya know?

there is TONS to do on my plate i bought at anthro
Honestly, hardly have time to cover my basis w/getting unpacked and redecorating our mcmansion/townhome for fall and lunching at Paradise with Glamma and Queenie and the reunions w/ all my girls and getting Tridger's & Alivyiah's schedule all figured out with lessons PLUS I still haven't posted my hubby-hub's first day of school picture OR the picture of the first day of school lunch I made him OR finished scrapping our DC stuff!! Holy moly! And on top of all a that, I'm co-hosting girl's night this month and we haven't even chosen a color scheme yet!! I know! Alot going on huh?
Busy busy busy but couldn't be happier! Just wanted to make sure noone got the wrong impression, I'm NOT not blogging bc I'm depressed or overeating, its just that I'm so busy w/ things that make me and my time more important then you! :)
Gotta run now to help get all the first-year law/biz/med/dental school wives orientated to there duties and making sure the craft nite and bridge nite and book club assignments are all appropriately darling. Honestly the handouts the new prez made were so ugly it was sad, poor thing. {condescending sigh}
She's nice but just YOUNG and doesn't even stamp.

DRASTIC CHANGES!!!!!!!!!!
you guys!
BIG NEWS!!!
I am thinking about chopping my hair off! Seriously! CHOPPING IT ALL OFF! Long hair is the best! But I'm a MOM now and busy and hip and all of that.
And in case you didn't know it's important that when you go from long hair to short hair you say CHOP not CUT to convay drastic!!
I AM SO NERVIOUS! SHOULD I DO IT?????
plz note that by CHOPPING ALL MY HAIR OFF i mean like from mid-back length to shoulder blade length. You know, CRAZY. when i say short i mean still long, just not AS long, not ACTUALLY short.
Geez guys I'm not a DUDE.
